I know I’ll sound pathetic but it’s around 6 am. So much going on in the world, my family, with my life and hearing this song I’m just sitting here crying missing when everyone was still here. When I had so much promise in the future. Please forgive me I’m emotional is all. I don’t really talk to many so here I am a lonely sapp pouring my heart out on KZbin. Wow

Ahhhh the 80ies. I was born 1984 and this music does something with my heart. It is the theme of my early childhood. I feel at home hearing it but also incredible sad and a massive loss at the same time. The thought of how much the world has changed although pretty bad shit happened also back then, makes me sad. I think that this is what nostalgia does. You idealize your childhood and everything having to do with it becomes sacred. Untill you realize that it is the same for everyone in their time and with their youth. The idle time when your mom and dad were everything to you, your whole world, and that you never had to worry for important stuff like money, food, rent, taxes, only that mommy/daddy is not angry at you or were to play next, that is never coming back to you. But only if you had good parents. I miss my childhood. It was not perfect but it was a safe haven and I will never feel the security again, I had back then. I am a so called Millennial and my generation is the last one, which run out of the house without a mobile and our parents only could hope we would come back safe and sound for dinner. Don't get me wrong, I am happy for mobiles but I also miss my youth, 80ies and 90ies movies, the people I lost over the years and it is hard to see my parents get old. And now Corona on top of all. Stay safe and sound, guys. The world is getting more and more complex but some things will never be forgotten and never change. That is was keeps me going every day.

Yeah, this song came out when I was a kid and I liked it but I didn't "get" it at all because as a 12 or 13-year-old you don't have any frame of reference to understand the lyrics. But when I heard it again when I was around 30 it was like really hearing it for the first time because I'd been in a marriage that was "so good on paper," things had started out "so romantic" and it was "so bewildering" when it didn't even last four years.

Time is illusion.... past, present, future, are all aspects of the eternal now. But our brains have been programmed to divide our own experience. Your as old and as young as you've ever been in reality. And alive within death.
