I met Leonard Cohen multiple times. A kinder, gentler soul would be difficult to find, however, his road to get there was turbulent and painful. He didn't like to talk about it much because now is now and it's best to leave the past in the past. I wish he had lived to see this. People from half a world away, most of whom have English as a second or third language, knowing his song word for word and note for note. There really is no higher praise that can be given an artist

@@williammccabe7340 Hi Willie, thank you for your reply. Good on you helping others in need and giving someone a little help to achieve a task that may be less challenging to others. I drive a large bus that transports people in our community from those with age related issues to mental or physical disabilities and I can say without hesitation, I have absolute admiration for them. They are out there doing their daily routines without any thought about the petty things others get hung up on. When I retired and decided to continue working until my wife was ready, I initially had no idea about the handicap community and when I started driving; a whole world opened up to me, one of awe and appreciation. So, I can say without hesitation, to see the people in the band participating as they are made me smile ear to ear because it takes strength, determination and courage to get up and challenge yourself as these wonderful people did; all while performing a beautiful piece of music which I love. God bless you Willie, all the best. 🙏🇨🇦

I watched your performance on You Tube playing Hallelujah where there were three gifted ladies singing with an amazing orchestra and in accompaniment of special needs people playing an assortment of musical instruments. That particular piece has always held a special place in my heart and hearing it played the way you played it; well, it made my eyes well up a bit. I’m retired but I’ve gone back to work until my wife catches up to retire in about two years and for six years now I’m driving a Handy Dart bus for people with mobility issues and in particular, special needs, hence the connection to the song; very powerful. Thank you Sir for bringing happiness into the lives of so many, God bless you.🙏🇨🇦

This video with Carmen Monarcha, Carla Maffioletti and Mirusia Louwerse is - besides the original by Leonard Cohen - in my opinion the best and most emotional version of this song. I love this version and will watch it repeatedly. The three ladies form a vocal unit that is second to none. Thanks to Andre Rieu. The inclusion approach is excellent and shows that we all belong together. We can create excellent moments for eternity if we want to do it together.
