How do you turn someone into a vampire in Carmilla? It's not with a bite or Laura would be a vampire now, so how does it work?

I am not sure if you want a serious answer but: the vampire must drain the victim of all of their blood and then allow the victim to feed off the vampires blood. The vampire should nurture the new vampire like a child. He/she helps them feed until they are able to do it on their own responsibly The person who turns you into a vampire is your mother/father.

In the Carmilla verse you have to be super painfully murdered OR you have to commit suicide and then brought be back to life in an unspecified way which is probably super similar to what Josie said because thats the typical way for Vampires to be sired.
