Heya folks, I have always wanted to cover the Carmina Buranas. This is one of my favorites "Tempus Transit Gelidum". This version is by Ensemble für Frühe Musik Augsburg which has the third verse in Middle High German instead of Latin. A very big thanks to ‪@ABAlphaBeta‬ for the english translations for the third verse which I couldn't find anywhere. Let me know what you think and also expect more Carmina Buranas in the coming weeks :) Take care and stay tuned folks.

It's so funny to finally understand parts of the ancient language of your cover. Especially since Middle high German has a lot more words that are similar with German Dialects than with modern High German.

Beatiful song and landscape. Remainded me of Beskidy (or maybe, because of pinetrees, Pieniny) in Poland, can't wait till spring comes to my country ;)

I gotta be honest, I enjoyed the mountain vista with the gentle wind in the otherwise quiet scenery more appealing than the singing part. But it was interesting to hear old German as a native German speaker. Man, I really have a learning for such quiet getaway in nature. It reminds me a bit of Hawai'i when we were climbing a mountain and briefly rested in a cedar wood with the same calming, magical mind noise and the humid clouds brushing through the tress.

Huge props for that beautiful macaronic transition! I'm looking forward to hearing more Carmina Burana texts soon. I've been thinking a lot about Goliardic life lately, and how many similarities there are to the disaffection of modern life. Those poems talk about very primal human experiences.

So I was little frustrated that I couldnt recognise it, even though Ive listened to the "Carmina Burana" a few times. Then I learnt that Orff only covered like 10% of the thing, should have called it the C. Looking forward to more, it is my favourite collection of poems from the 1230s, after all.

That was such a seamless language transition, I had to check the description to confirm that you swapped from Latin to German. I rarely hear German in forms other than Rammstein or history documentaries [or myself cursing in frustration], it's refreshing to hear German in a non-harsh tone, bravo

Day 23. I have infiltrated the Roman camp and so far they don't suspect a thing, whenever they start to get suspicious or question me a lot, I just bust out a song and they leave me alone all happy and cheerful. Attila will be happy when I get back to him with all the reports. 😂

@@the_miracle_aligner Then that's even more amazing than what I thought! Very well done! I guess that being interested in ancient European languages such as Latin and medieval music must be a very peculiar hobby over there,..well to be honest it's already hard to find anyone interested in this field even in my own country 😂 (Italy) And by the way, the landscape looks uncannily close to the mountains in central Italy, I was quite surprised to read you filmed it in India 'cause I would have never guessed that, but now it makes sense😂
