What a cracking day you had weather wise! Views were spectacular, I'm sure I saw Ben Macdui and Ben Avon as well as Mheadhoin, Devil's point, Braeriach and Cairntoul! Hopefully when I get round to doing it weather will be just as kind. Maybe use a mountain bike to bike the path before the steep bit?

Oh yeah it was perfect alright one of the best days i have had up there to be honest. Pretty sure you an see nearly all of the high Munros from Carn a' Mhaim summit. The bike? If you intend to take it to where you leave the path and head up you will be pushing it for some parts as its not all a good flat path the way there especially to the second bridge crossing @8:09 . Best and safest idea would be to leave the bike at or near the wooden bridge just after Derry Lodge as it will still require some walking but it will shave off quite a distance as well. Thanks mate take care, peter :)))

I climbed it yesterday! Views were spectacular. We were lucky because weather forecast was cloudy and rain! I especially enjoyed the view of Devils Point and Corrour Bothy, also Ben Macdui, Derry Cairngorm. A bit further away were the Glenshee Munros, and I even saw Beinn a'Ghlo. Thanks to the Peak finder app I found out what the hills were 👍👍

Many thanks again Peter, there can be no better place to be on a wonderful spring day than the Scottish hills, how I would love to be able to walk them again. Enviously yours, Magnus

Pleasure Magnus. You cant beat a day like that in the Cairngorms, Well worth the 4am alarm call and near 3 hour drive up from Glasgow. Making plans to tent it overnight for some future walks :) Thank you Magnus, All the best. peter.

Speedos! Haha - for exhibitionists only :) What a fantastic sunny week we've had, and now there's a dusting of snow on the tops again. Beautiful photos. It's an area I don't know well, but it looks lovely.

Sure is lovely Natalie, The clear blue skies make it that wee bit more special. I love it up there, You never know what you will see round the next path. Speedos will be first item in the bag next trip, Just hope i dont get spotted lol! Thanks for watching Natalie, Take care. peter.

Lovely place Peter get back to the gorms next winter I hope. Saw Corrour bothy from a distance when up that way with Mick and son. You enjoyed that but its a long day I always would camp overnight but then I'm a camper lol. Yes get camera away time I know about that almost lost me camera at the Glyders another few inches and it was a goner. Another Ben Vane.

Love it up there Eddie. More so when you get perfect weather, You can walk for ages on well made paths. Do you think you will ever make it to Corrour Bothy one day? The camera will cost £148 to fix, It cost me £250 i think. Suppose needs must. Cheers Eddie all the best mate, peter.

Another great film, looked like a fair walk in too. It wasn't a summit I had planned to do but your film changed my mind on that, a fantastic outlook from the summit too. Always enjoy your work, looking forward to the next one.
@MUNROSnCORBETTS5 жыл бұрын
Cheers Ian. You get some amazing views from that summit i must admit. In fact if i was an hour or so earlier i would have filmed the two RAF hercules(i think) planes flying through the Lairig Ghru. That would have topped it all off.

Great views from the top Peter, your knowledge of this area must come in very useful for the Munro baggers too, glorious weather I could almost smell that clean air when you were going past the waterfalls at the bottom. 14 miles is a right old slog mate, 3.5 hours return is no joke, crumbs...I hope you got a good pub lunch at the end of this one! amazing wilderness area :) Tim

Thank you Tim :) I love it up there, Cant get enough of the place to be honest. 14 miles was a good hike to get the rust off the legs, And even though i rarely drink i could have done with one or ten after i got home and discovered that i left my bloody boots at the car park lol! But after the day i had i just laughed it off (honestly) ha ha ha! Cheers for taking time to watch Tim, Hope all is well with you, Mandy & Jess :)))

Great views again Peter especially when you were looking down towards the bothy. The water looked really clear as you went over that bridge on the way up. Atb Glenn.

Cheers Glenn. The water was crystal clear all the way from Derry Lodge, Saw a few campers filling up no far from it. It is a beautiful place, Just wish there were double the Munros up there. Nearly bagged them all. Will have nothing but great memories of that area when i do :) Thanks for watching Glenn, Hope all is well mate. peter.

Great video Peter it's a grand viewpoint from the summit over to the big boys. I was up there about 9 years ago, I biked in from Braemar to Derry Lodge, it was boarded up back then too, what a waste of a fine building as you say would make a great youth hostel. A wonderful area, the walk in through the pines is special too. Thanks for sharing. Atb. Mick.
@MUNROSnCORBETTS5 жыл бұрын
Aye its a viewpoint and a half Mick. I mind looking down there from Cairn Toul last year and thinking how small Carn a'Mhaim looked. Now it was in reverse as how big the "big boys" are. I cant find many places better than up there for a walk/hike etc And a Youth Hostel would top it all off, It is a great building just sitting there doing nothing. A waste indeed! Thanks Mick, All the best big man. peter :)

What a day you had weather wise Pete. The forestry of the Cairngorms is second to none in my opinion so that walk in looked brilliant. Could you see Sgor Gaoith from that summit? You certainty know your way around the Cairngorms for sure Pete. Thanks for posting buddy, I enjoyed watching that one on the big TV. Douglas 😉🙌🏼⛰🏴

Aye it was a day for it alright! Couldnt have asked for more mate, Hope you get up there soon! You cant see Sgor Gaoith from there as Cairn Toul and Braeriach are blocking the view. But plenty more other ones to make up for it though :) Thanks foe the comment Douglas, Take care mate. peter.

Informative video that will no doubt help others find their way easier. I must say that I like the way you captured yourself taking in the views..a nice addition to already great videos Ken

I was thinking the same about they boulders Ken, Nice wee procession walkway up to the summit. I was actually trying to get some still photos of myself, But i ended up thinking back and daydreaming to last year when i was over the other side bagging the big ones. Great memories of an amazing place. Hope you make it up there Ken, I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!

Hi mate, absolutely love your videos. I have a wee question regarding another Munro though. In order to do Beinn na lap what station did you go to in order to get there
@MUNROSnCORBETTS5 жыл бұрын
Thanks ma man! I got the train from "Bridge of Orchy" railway station. It leaves Queen st station in Glasgow, I could have used that option but i just drove up to "Bridge of Orchy" and got it from there. There are other stations on the route out of Glasgow you can use depending on where you live. The train timetable is online, But bear in mind there are only about 3 or 4 trains on that route each day and the last is about 6-30pm- ish and if you miss it your stuck until the next day.
