Carnarvon Gorge Part 1 Is this the best gorge walk in Queensland? | we stay at Sandstone Park - Ep47

Finally we’ve left Brisbane and we’re back on the road. We have 3 months to spin around the NT and enjoy everything it has to offer. We start our trip at the beautiful Carnarvon Gorge, we’re staying at Sandstone Park which is just outside the National Park.
On this week’s episode we take you along as we hike our way through this magnificent gorge and show you some of our favourite destinations along the trail.

Love the big hike. I list the sole of my hiking boots on the way out but did the 22 km with one shoe then when we got back to camp hubby fixed the boot and they are still going strong 4 years later.

Can you take dogs into the camping grounds in the area?

hi, yes you can have dogs at the Sandstone Park. I believe they have a pet minding facility available when you visit the gorge.

Hi a kiwi here,I’m thinking of visiting next year in may/June spend Three to six weeks depending on work .buy a cheap tent and hire a car do you think I would be able to go out to Carnarvon , also I would be a solo 58yr female

Absolutely, there is a fantastic caravan park very close the gorge call Breezes. They have tent camping available, toilets, showers and camp kitchen facilities. We stayed there a few years ago in a tent and loved it. make sure you book early to make sure you get a spot
