I don't know why I don't hear this concerto more it is full of life and interest . Prok 2 vn.concerti are favorites put that slow mov. in a movie and clasical records will sell again . Menuhin this was written for.

A very rich violin tone! Almost viola-like. What’s the instrument? Sounds Guarneriesque. This is one of my favourite pieces of music, and lovely to be able to hear the violin more clearly.

Disclaimer: I’m not a violinist, I just pent a lot of time around makers listening to different tones and I’m fascinated - always preferred the Guarneris to the Strads, both in sound and shape.

James Ehnes plays 1715 Antonio Stradivarius "Marsick". I don't know about the student, but he seems to play a antique~modern french violin.
