To try to answer your question about cruising Galveston with the drink package…Royal Caribbean you can use your drink package on day one, TABC law limits cruise ships to only sell their alcohol that was obtained from the holder of a local distributors permit in Texas 🤠…Carnival on the other hand chooses to hold off all together with their drink package making their Cheers begin on day two, assuming they didn’t get their alcohol from a local distributor. Once the ships are outside of Texas territory, the states laws no longer apply which usually is about two hours after sail away and all liquors onboard are available. That’s the way we have understood it to be after cruising from Galveston for 22 years⚓️❤️🍸

This is great info! Thank you so much 😊 I wish they would work it out so you could either have the drink package on Day 1 or be able to buy a 10x drink card at a discounted rate or something. In the end it's not that big of a deal we could of just brought on some wine and not gone as crazy on Day 1 lol 🤣

We haven't! We've only been on 2x Carnival cruises but we hope to get on some more. Just general suggestions I find that the themed parties are a lot of fun on Carnival, both the white party and rock n glow party we're an absolute blast. We really enjoyed The Family Feud and Deal or no Deal game shows and the Bonsai Sushi specialty restaurant. 🍻☀️😎

Do you still tip with the drinks package like you would normally? Curious when and how much cash we should carry around.

@Shay2theT I typically add a dollar or 2 to each drink if the service is good. I also tip additionally at each specialty restaurant, But it’s not necessary as you have prepaid gratuity on your package. It’s also not necessary to carry any cash for the ship as everything goes on your sign and sail card. Cash will be for off the ship

I am commenting as a watch as though this is a live stream, forgive the excitement! lol on the "sold out" of beer, its because they have to purchase any alcohol sold in Texas or Texas waters from Texas, im sure it is quite a bit more expensive so they only buy as much as they think they need. Which is why when they get to international water they are suddenly not "sold out" anymore.

Just for clarification, the no drinks in port or not on the first day is 100% a Carnival thing not a Galveston thing. We have sailed Royal out of Galveston a couple times and drink package works as soon as you board, while you are in port its a "limited" Texas menu but the only limitations we found were the brands of liquor you could get in your mixed drinks.

Yes you're right! I shouldn't of said Galveston 🤦‍♂️ it seems to be a Carnival only thing, I already knew about Royal and I was reading on cruise critic about it and apparently NCL do it the same as Royal. Carnival's drink package is significantly cheaper for the most part so maybe they just don't want to absorb the cost. Great info! ☀️🍻😎

Looking forward to the new series! We did not love our first Carnival cruise on the Mardi Gras, after 11 on other lines. We did enjoy it,just would not choose it over Royal. I found it a tad lower quality overall, maybe except for drinks! If you don’t drink or don’t have the drink pkg though… It was just meh. Have to get the drink pkg on Carnival and just join in 🤣. Greetings, I went on a Carnival cruise out of Baltimore last week. A friend of mine, Greg, told me a few months ago he and his wife and a couple of his in-laws had booked the cruise. I thought to myself, if the price is right, why not? So I did. Well, first off, the 7 day cruise turned into a 6 day cruise because when the ship was returning to Baltimore for our cruise, it had engine troubles and broke down. It was delayed several hours and then had to divert to Port Canaveral Florida due to a medical emergency and they had to drop somebody off at the port. Well, the ship, (Carnival Legend) returned to Baltimore on Monday instead of Sunday. They offered us a complete refund for a future cruise or a refund for the day we missed and stay on the current cruise. They also offered some reimbursement for those who incurred hotel or air fare expenses. I don't know the details as I was not very concerned about that since I just stayed home a day longer. I am spoiled with my 50 minute drive from home to the Port of Baltimore. Anyway, we finally cast off and set sail for faster to the fun. yep. Big fun. Over all it was nice! Hanging out with Greg and his family was cool...but I would say Carnival is definitely a Blue Collar Cruise! Several incidents, I am sure occur on all ships, however, till now I don't think I have observed 3 or 4 on the same cruise. Number 1 is Drunk Jimmy who came to the table where Greg, his brother in law and I were sitting. Drunk Jimmy announced to us that he was thinking about jumping of the ship. I took his comment as a "drunk" Jimmy talking. Greg took it as a suicide ideation. WTF, That was just one statement along with a diatribe of info he shared about him and his girlfriend not getting along. You know me...the social peace maker. I spoke with drunk Jimmy for a minute or two until he became drunk obnoxious Jimmy. I asked him what deck his cabin was on. He said 8 ...I told him maybe his girl does not love him but that is something he should discuss with her when he is sober. I told him to go to his cabin, sleep it off and deal with it in the morning. Meanwhile, while I was chatting it up with drunk Jimmy...Greg got up and walked away...we were sitting at a table in the buffet area so I didn't think much about him leaving, to get coffee or something else to eat...did not give it a second thought. Two minutes after drunk Jimmy left the area, Greg returns to the table with 2 or 3 security officers. WTF? They wanted to know where drunk Jimmy went. How the fuck should I know? I just met the drunk bastard. He said his name was Jimmy and his cabin was on deck 8. They left looking for drunk Jimmy. Greg left with them. So Melvin, Greg's bro in law, and I started joking about Greg perhaps being held by security against his will, I said we should tell Greg to blink twice if he needs help! Ha ha ha! Melvin and I were yucking it up...until the security officers returned with Greg...and now they wanted me to walk around the ship looking to identify drunk Jimmy. Actually they escorted Greg and I down to the Security Office behind the casino to view sort of a photo array of pictures from the ID cards they had on file from the pictures they take or we submit prior to boarding the ship. They had pulled pictures of all the men who had cabins on deck 8 with the first name of Jimmy or James. I was impressed with how they could pull the filtered pictures so fast. That being said, you know how janky ID pictures can look...so after viewing a lot of them, I picked I guy who "sort of" looked like Jimmy. Hell, had I known Greg was going to report him to security, I would have taken a selfie with the bastard. I was a bit annoyed with Greg for his lack of communication with me. Not to mention, I did not know drunk Jimmy from Adam. I would have felt bad if he jumped off the ship...but it is not like we bonded during our 3 minute conversation. In fact, I would have told him to push away from the ship when he jumps to avoid getting sucked into the prop wash. Just sayin. Anyway...we went to a room on deck 8 and woke up the wrong Jimmy and his wife. Security let us go about our business after that. The next day I saw one of the officers who was involved and he told me they found Drunk Jimmy. He was okay. His cabin actually was on deck 8, we just picked the wrong Jimmy from the janky mug shots. They revoked his drinking privileges for the rest of the cruise. About 2 days left at this point. Later on that day, I was speaking to a bartender, telling him about drunk Jimmy. Bartender was familiar with drunk Jimmy. Drunk Jimmy had been making the rounds. Bartender told me drunk Jimmy apologized to the ship management, said he was just joking, and they reinstated his drink package. That is the gist of story number 1. But it was a nice cruise. Then there was the woman who works in a prison in Virginia, who broke up with her boyfriend of 10 years...four months ago...noticed I was single...and wanted to talk over a drink. I said, "Sure" and pointed to the bar in the centrum. We walked over there, she ordered a Margarita, no salt. I said I would like the same. Then she asked me, "How are we going to split this? Anyway, it was pretty much a crash and burn situation from then on. OMG! LAMO! @@ryanandkala

Oh how cool/funny! This time last year I was watching your Celebration adventures because we were getting ready to sail on her in Feb of this year. We did that cruise (back to back, 14 days) and I got cruise fever bad because my son is on the Jubilee as we speak so I'm working on booking her for next January and...here we are again! Looking forward to watching this vlog, and once again, sooooo faaaar away from cruising. Learned a lot on the Celebration though, with one of the biggest lessons being to not book a balcony on deck 9. At least on the side of the ship. Those balconies are offset just right so the cabins above look down on them, and there is no cover from sun or rain. We enjoyed the actual suite cabin, but worst balcony ever and I've been lucky enough to experience most. Next cruise we have on hold at the moment is two connecting coves. Still making the final decision, but think that's going to win. Wish we could do another B2B, but not in the cards since son is coming with and the spring semester of college starts up. THANK YOU for all the work put into making these videos, they are so helpful and enjoyable!

I totally agree with you that the Patrons on Carnival Cruise Lines are much more friendly, engaging, willing to smile and laugh and have have a good time. And it's NOT the alcohol, ..... people are just MORE FRIENDLY!! I have been on 20 Carnival, 6 Norwegian and 1 Royal Caribbean. Have not yet been on Carnival Jubilee, but I've been on Celebration twice and Mardi Gras once. Keep up the great work and Thanks in advance. 😎⛹️‍♀️🚴‍♂️🤸‍♂️

Never seen the pool so empty at Embarkation, how was the water? At the Red Frog Tiki Bar, I think they do the bell or a siren when you order a Jet Pilot

It was definitely the emptiest we have ever seen the pool as well! Someone told us they ring it if they get a good tip, or if you ask them to ring it, but we also heard that certain drinks get a ring too! It really gets the crowd going haha! We love it!

Sailing on the jubilee in august so I’m binging videos currently 😂 Also, less than fun fact (sorry if already answered) Texas (and NY I think) have limited drink menus on embarkation day because of the tax laws in those states. As a Texas native I can tell you, they tax AALLLLL the fun stuff like 3 times 🫠 So my understanding is, they can only sell alcohol that was purchased in Texas, while in Texas waters, as that guarantees the state was able to collect taxes paid on that selection of alcohol when it was purchased, and they tax consumers when they buy those drinks available in Texas waters too. This could also be why Dr.Inks was “sold out” of beer - probably only sold out of the beer purchased in Texas. Anyway, again, just love y’all, you’re always so much fun, looking forward to more videos!

We didn’t park when we were there but we noticed a lot of parking available right at the port and in the surrounding area. There are also a lot of hotels that nearby that allow to leave your car for a fee.
