Hi! Our name's are Kyra and Aaron and we are AK Adventures! In this vlog, the Carnival Mardi Gras makes its first ever port of call in San Juan, Puerto Rico! We love the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. The last time we were here was February 2019 when Kyra surprised Aaron with a Disney cruise for his birthday! This time we went to Castillo San Cristobal with Kyle Pallo and learned about a lot of great history. We were going to go to the "umbrella street" but we got caught in the rain. Once we got back on the ship, we went to the pool and had so much fun at the Bye Bye San Juan Sail Away Party!

2017 we docked in San Juan when we were on the Glory. We took a bus tour to Old San Juan and walked back to the port. We saw and learned a little history from the driver. We didn’t do much. Back then they were really taxing, I paid like $5 for a Pepsi. Their taxes are really high?! All of this was the week before they were hit by Hurricane Maria.😎🛳

Thank you for sharing! I really love Puerto Rico and you went to one of my favorite places, El Morro and shopping at Old San Juan. My family and I planned to go to Puerto Rico in 17 more days. We will be on the Symphony of the Seas. I will be doing a vlog for my students. It will be a summer assignment on the things we did for the summer. I will also add the foods we ate! Last time I visited San Juan on my last cruise before the pandemic hit in February 2020 I couldn't visit the fortress because it was a late arrival and it was closed already. Next time I visit PR, its definitely something I want to explore after yours and Kyle's vlog of your visit!!

What a beauty couple you are. Full of energy and excitement! Really ready to do this tour now if everything starts getting better. I also cruises to PR and the Fort was on the schedule but we wanted to go to the Bacardi distillery Tour first, so it was way across the city a little far out. They gave us samples of drinks and got us all woozy. so by the time we got back to the port it was too late to go on that tour. But I really want to see it next time. I was a home travel agent for a number of years focusing on cruising. Not so much now, but I really want to experience that Ship! Thanks for sharing your vacation with us!!

Next time visit San Felipe del Morro fort, it's bigger than St. Cristobal fort. Just follow the Norzagaray street and at the you'll see El Morro fort.

The biggest fort construction, in the "New World", is San Cristobal. But...The El Morro Fort has the biggest ground front extension and the most amazing ocean view and spectacula entrance.

That happens alot. There were complete downpours when I was there. But the rain didnt stop anything! We stopped at Walgreens bought umbrellas and explored! The main thing is enjoy The Island and The Culture 😊🏝❤

Yes, that fort is huge! I did the walking tour when I visited and it still did not cover all of it. But the history was great. And yes, my teeth were hurting when he bit into that popsicle. 😂
