If I’m understanding it’s kind of sad that aft balconies don’t actually look out at the ocean. That is why I love them it to watch the wake of the ship with unobstructed views. I don’t necessarily want to look down on a public deck. That definitely changes the “extended aft view” category for me

Yes! All of our cabins are in green except for one and I had that one changed. Forward suite. That's just too much money to not be in a premium location. This video is so well done. Very laborious. I watched in sections. Thanks alot!!

There is a lot of great information in this video. I don't think I've ever seen a more detailed overview. It's so difficult to get good information on the cabins! The cabin location is very important to me and I really like the bed to be near the balcony instead of the bathroom. I'm booked on the Mardi Gras in 2020 in cabin 17207. Is there any way you can tell me the position of the bed in that cabin? This is a Cloud 9 Spa Balcony with an extended forward balcony. Looking at the pictures available when I made my booking, it seemed like the cabins in the middle of the front of deck 17 might seem more like caves than balcony staterooms and I like a sunny room. This is from Carnival's booking site. How much of an obstruction is the steel rail. Also you mention the wind on the end forward facing suites, how much of a factor is the wind on the forward balcony's. This Room Includes: Two twin beds (convert to king). Sofa, plus vanity with illuminated mirror. Full bathroom with shower. Ample closet space. Private forward-facing extended balcony with patio chairs and table. Note: View is partially obstructed by steel railing.

W I just love how informative your videos are! We have two cabins booked 11316 and 11324. I’m curious by any chance if you might be able to let me know what the exact set up is? Meaning so far next to balcony as opposed to bed next to bathroom? I called and asked and they told me that if I needed to I could have the furniture moved around. I found that odd because it doesn’t show that in the room meaning that I know the beds are located in a specific position to where you have the nightstands and the lights I don’t understand how that can be changed to accommodate you. Wouldn’t it be easier just to change the room? I thought you might have some insight on this and be able to better assist me as opposed to The information I was given. I thank you very much as I have elderly parents that I need to be concerned about.

we were booked to sail next april but decided to rebook for july of 2022 given the covid situation - we actually went from a middle forward balcony to an ocean suite on an aft hump on deck 10 and now we are in the corner forward suite on deck 15(15209 to be exact tho i think in the video its listed as 15029) just curious if its really as windy as I've heard. and not really bothered with the overhang of the bridge - in fact we prefer that as we found out from our last couple sailings on the Dream and Vista in aft facing balconies both on deck 9 - it was nice not having anyone above us and a source of shade

Hi, The forward corner areas are windy d/t higher air pressure in front of the moving ship. How windy they are depends on the weather as well. Could you please tell me your thought about #10410? I'm also curious about what the pullman in that room looks like because I've not been able to find pics of it yet. Also, the deck plans on Carnival's website show that the standard balconies on deck 10 (including #10410) look larger than all the other standard balconies on the ship... do you know if they actually are larger? You showed cove balconies, with lifeboats over head. Are those also cove balconies where the life boats are located above. Are they considered obstructed, and at a lesser value than unobstructed cove.

We've had a cove balcony with lifeboats overhead. They actually provide a little shade when cruising in hot summer. Love the cove balconies for the closeness to the water. Unfortunately most in my family love to be higher close to the action.

Hi Kathie, 10425 has the bed by the bathroom, 10427 - by the balcony. The location is not great, but these cabins have extended balconies (partially exposed). Otherwise they would be "red'. Happy cruising!

Decided to splurge on spa cove balcony and the only options left for our sailing were 5247, 5259 and 5261. Automatically dismissed 5259 because I don't like connecting doors so that leaves 5247 and 5261. 5261 seemed appealing because of the shortcut to the elevators but chose 5247 based on lifeboat views from balcony. This puts us under the limelight stage so that should be interesting. I am curious as to why 5259, 5261 and 5273 are red. Is it the restrooms upstairs?

Hi Deb, The Mardi Gras has mind boggling number of cabin layouts, however I was able to summarize and present in the video haw they look vs each other. Typically, the accessible cabins are x1.5 or x2 times larger that corresponding balcony or inside cabins. You can expect ~150 inches width for 1.5 cabins, and ~200 inches width for 2.0 cabins. Happy cruising!

I just booked balcony #11386. I have been WAY over stressing finding the perfect cabin and your video was SO thorough and SO helpful. This is only our third cruise and it seems like I made a few mistakes picking the previous times. But I think with your video I might have got it!!! THANK YOU. I've learned to book a room with cabins above and below, check. And while not the top most of the green balconies, this one is green still, check. And we determined that getting close to the center elevators would probably be ideal because it looks like on this ship it actually goes through to all the key points just about. The icing on the cake would be if I followed your pattern of interlocking cabins right, this should be a "bed by balcony", right? *fingers crossed* (It won't be the end of the world if it isn't, but you know, just that much better if it is)

Hi Levan, 10297 & 10299 are interconnected cabins (with a door in the wall between them). The feature extended balconies that are 3/5 exposed. The balconies overlook the exposed mini-suite balconies right below (deck 9) and Havana deck (deck 8 that is supposed to have been a wide promenade deck). Happy cruising!

Hi Mark, You are welcome. Both cabins have the beds by the bathroom. A connected cabins symbol, as a rule, indicates straight walls, that are on the left hand side for the "bed by the balcony", and the right hand side for the "bed by the bathroom". Happy cruising!

Hi Christopher, You have booked two adjacent cabins, so you'll have both layouts. The location is right above the promenade deck that will likely to be occupied by the dining venue open beck extension covered by a light overhang. The "ideal" choice of location would suggest no public rooms under your floor or above, or behind the wall. A higher position of the deck will also provide better sea views. Happy cruising!

Hello! Great video, thanks for making it! We just booked cabin 10473 and 10471, wanted to check and see your opinion on those two rooms? I didn't fully understand what the grey color (Neither Fish nor Flesh) meant? Also, where is the bed in room 10471? Thanks for your help

Hi Donna, The grey color means the middle of the two clearly visible extremes (worst/best). I suggest that potential cruisers avoid standard cabins on deck 9, as they will pay for the product that has much less value than other locations. As to 10473 & 10471, they are not in the red or pink zones (exposed to the roofs and/or crowds just below rather than to unobstructed connection to the sea), but the open deck below is still close. At the same time the balconies on deck 11 seem to be more relevant to "classic" balcony experience on cruise ships ("just you and the sea"). So ... deck 9 is definitely "no", and deck 10 is "definitely" (considering this ship design) "yes". So deck 10 in this area is left grey - "neither, nor" (I would hold my judgement). 10471 should have the bed by the balcony. Happy cruising!

Hi Manuel, 9300 is a mini-suite located above the Asian restaurant. There must be overlooking the overhang that partially covers the restaurant's open deck area. The balcony is exposed (no "roof"). The bed should be by the bathroom. Happy cruising!

Cabin 12383 - I’ve tried to figure out bed placement and haven’t succeeded. I have located video of 12375 & 12391 which would be in the same placement cadence with 12383… but 12375 is by bathroom and 12391 is by balcony…. So my deductive thinking isn’t working. I like the left side of the bed to be near the balcony. Any info on 12383 is appreciated. (At least I’m in the ‘green’ section! )

Booked into cove 5356. It’s in green and we should be good to go. I wonder if these smaller cabins on this ship will be noticeable when compared to the other standard cabins..

Hi Joejenna 1000, I like cove balconies. These cabins on Mardi Gras are standard (for Mardi Gras) size cabins. However they are smaller than standard cabins on the ships like Carnival Conquest, Carnival Breeze, Carnival Legend. Happy cruising!

Looking at the Havana cabins, specifically 8303 and 8301. What is the whole separate hallway and stairs about for that section and exactly how would it even look/work?

By design this "separate" area away from major traffic paths technically allows for a key card entry into the hallway. Will this serve any practical purpose? I don't think so. The whole idea of a separate area on this ship is not natural for Carnival. As to this ship in particular, the implementation is highly controversial, so I don't see a perfect decision for this. There can be a sign (Reserved for Havana guests only) at the entrance to the Havana lounge, or a key card door. The cruise line is still to decide... Happy cruising!

Thank you for this very informative video! Best cabin review I have seen. I am really interested in booking a spa suite. My choices are 17229, 17233, or 17258. Any thoughts on choosing one over the other? I am also hoping the deck above won't be a problem. Would appreciate any input. Thanks!

Ended up going with the regular suite 11308. Hope this is good!
