Não chega nem perto carnaval do brasil querem imitar mas o samba exclusividade brasileira tem samba no pé

Trini’s want to imitate Brazil? Are you mad? Yes, Brazil is samba but, we are soca, big difference, unique vibe and we’ll never trade. We have a saying ‘soca is like blood in our veins, Trini to de bone’. You are welcome to visit anytime. 🙏🏾🇹🇹

No one is trying to copy Brazilian carnival. Trinidad carnival has its own origins and dates back well over 100 years. Try doing some research before commenting on things you know nothing about.

T&T Carnival is no longer "The Greatest Show On Earth". The Brazilians would refer to what is shown in this vid, as a "Pre Carnaval Village/Town Bloco". Brazil continues to display to the world "The Greatest Carnaval Show On Earth". T&T Carnival can no longer match Brazil's Carnaval. T&T now has probably the largest carnival street party on earth. We have regressed. Sad.

Brasil has what it has and Trinidad has what it has. I wish people would STOP comparing the two carnivals. Many people who are comparing, they probably have NEVER even visited Brasil.

@@anniemc2968 Been there to Brazil's Carnaval. We should STOP referring to T&T's Carnival as "The greatest ahow on earth". It no longer has that distinction. Face it.

@@lankimo23 I have absolutely no problem with what you are saying, except you are just looking at the street parade. When I talk about Trinidad's carnival I am talking about everything from Boxing Day. I am talking about ALL of the festivities leading up to the two days of revelry. Brasil's carnival is just the street parade, but Trinidad's carnival has many competitions and that is what makes our carnival very special. You are also right to say NOT to compare them, because Brasil's carnival has millions of participants, whereas Trinidad's is thousands. A lot of the jour ouvert traditional carnival characters have died out and they are NOT doing anything about it. I don't know how old you are but I can go as far back as the 70s and I remember the diables molassies or black devils. I remember the blue devils, red devils and yellow devils. I remember bookman, pierrot grenade, maestros, minstrels, midnight robbers, wild Indians and the negre Jardin, just to name a few of them. I also remember there were many manifestations of the devil mas back in the days and all the different things they wore and did. Now I do NOT see them anymore but I am seeing new traditions emerging. Why can't they keep the old and combine the new? Trinis have a knack for letting traditions die but when you visit the other islands you often see theirs are alive and well. Look at how Grenada hung onto its diables molassies, while Trinidad allowed theirs to die. Those were the ONLY two islands I knew of with the character and if I am NOT mistaken, Haiti. I am asking people if Trinidad still has Monday Night Mas but NOBODY is able to tell me. Grenada's Monday Night Mas started after Trinidad's Monday Night Mas and theirs are still going strong, so what is going on in Trinidad? Two portfolios I ALWAYS say if I am a politician in Trinidad I would love to be, is either the minister of culture or of tourism, because I call them royals. They have NEVER and DON'T ever do anything for Trinidad and Tobago. You visit the other islands and you can see what they are doing and their people will tell you they are working, but NEVER in Trinidad! Trinidad can no longer sit back and say we DON'T have to do anything, they just come to us, because now with the advent of KZbin everyone is now seeing what everyone else has to offer and is comparing. Trinis have to work hard to hold on to the carnival. Trinidad is the ONLY place in the world with a national festival, Carnival, a national song, Calypso, a national dance, Limbo, and a national instrument, steel drum. I am hearing people up the islands trying to claim all, except the Limbo, but then again, who knows? Maybe they are claiming that also.
