Thank you, Jim. I've been on 23 cruises and have the Panorama booked for 4-27-24. My favorite line is Royal Caribbean, however, they don't offer much on the West Coast now, so I find myself on Carnival. I am a cruiser that likes the Mega ship like "Serenade of the Seas". My last cruise on Carnival Miracle. One of my least favorite cruises because of the age of the ship. They have since dry docked and I hope they made improvements. I really look forward to cruising on a bigger Carnival ship.

If you've watched my previous Panorama videos, this one is going to look very familiar. What happened was that I recently re-watched a video I did about the Panorama two years ago. As I watched it, I thought that it was a shame that more people hadn't watched that video two years ago when I first posted it... because it had some really good information in it that would really help someone who was either thinking about booking a cruise on Carnival Panorama, or who had booked a cruise that would be coming up soon. And there were several things in the video that I had forgotten which were actually helpful to me in getting ready for my upcoming cruise on the Panorama again. In other words, things this senior citizen had already forgotten about Panorama in two years, that would be really useful to me when I got on Panorama again. Kind of like I made a video two years ago to my future self, with information that would be helpful to me now! Anyway, I decided to take that video I made two years ago and re-record the voiceover to change just a few things here and there... but to essentially re-release the video I did two years ago in hopes that more Panorama cruisers would get a chance to see it this time around. Also, there was one glaring technical problem in the video I made two years ago that has bothered me ever since. So, now I was able to fix that in the new version... which makes me feel better to have that fixed!

So my wife and i are leaving in a few weeks August 12th 2023 on the panorama. Wish i had watched your video before we booked but we booked late so there weren't many cabins to choose from and we usually book a nice suite but i would have booked the Havana rooms since my wife likes wearing string bikinis and we always go to the adult pool. We booked thru costco took the cloud spa balcony suites since she spends time in the spas and we also use the workout areas. We booked with Costco and We got $200 costco gift card and $200 on board credits which we already used towards excursions. Im gona call them tmrw and see if i can switch my cabin. Thanks for a great video. So we were able to book a Havana suite last week...thank goodness..

Royal Caribbean did it right with the enclosed atrium over the pools at the forward. Carnival's VISTA Class ships with the adults only Serenity area is windy.

This was a great video. Me, my husband, our daughter and two grandsons will be taking this cruise in January 2023. We have booked a suite in the Harbor Family area on deck two. This will be our seventh cruise with Carnival. Love the idea of having two bathrooms! I especially enjoyed the video because your filming isn't jerky or going to fast. Some vlogs we can't even watch because they make us dizzy. You also have an excellent voice for this, having been on the radio!!!!

Love your videos. Just an FYI. I was on the Horizon in August and the dinner in the main dining rooms were much quicker. It was about an hour. We had the “anytime” dining. Very convenient.

Great video Jim! I'm literally on my last day on the Panorama and found all of this to be true! The ship is rocking right now! The cruise director Ryan Rose is AWESOME!!! The atrium and deck parties are so much fun and Ryan has such good enthusiasm and energy! And you're right about the Lido deck buffet. Whomp-whomp😔 but Guy's place as well as the Teppenyaki restaurant was a blast!

I agree that the dinner buffet is totally lacking. in my last 5 cruises I have done dinner buffet once and regretted it! I will say that Carnival has finally gotten the dinner options totally RIGHT on their Excel class ships in particular with Your Time dining, having the dining room AND a choice of multiple restaurants as included options at no additional cost is Awesome!

Great video, I love the Panorama and have sailed on it 5 or 6 times in the past year. I agreed with you on all your points except that one of the things I most enjoy about the Havana Deck is the continuous Cuban music that sets the Caribbean vibe of that deck. When I need quiet sunshine and ocean breeze, I go to the Serenity Deck to enjoy their spa music😊. Thanks for making this video !

Jim I must agree with your review about the cover band in the ocean plaza. They were awesome. My wife asked them during a break where they were from. They said they were each hired by carnival individually. Very impressive and talented. We watched them every time they came on. Every show was different. Unfortunately they were not there when we sailed March 2022 .

Jim - After 24 years living in Seattle I moved to SoCal and one thing you may not know is here San Pedro is pronounced as Pee-dro. I hear it pronounced Pee-dro in major movies and TV series. Just returned a couple days ago (01 Jul 2023) from Mexico. Just a warning about LB. Unlike the initial video, we arrived at 1430 and the place was a gaggle. Lines everywhere, we got told to go to the passenger services line (+30 min) but no one, even in line knew why. We got up there and they didnt know why either, so we finally boarded. It was about a 90 minute process. Also, if you are on the back end of the Panorama on the balconies, be aware you will receive a healthy dose of a sticky, black tarry substance on your railing, deck and deck furniture. They will need to clean the balcony every 2 days, this is only on the stern balconies, unless deck 9. Deck 9 has an overhead cover that prevents the tar from landing. But you will have the Tides, pool above you, so it could get noisy for you. We also had the Havana wrap around balcony (8467), the balcony was huge, but the tar crap made it not-so-good. The Havana aspect is a take it as you like it, so read up on it before you book it. Have fun everyone.

I’ll be on the panorama in October, first time on a bigger ship, I usually prefer the smaller ships, but with the casino offer I couldn’t turn down heading to the Mexican riv for the first time. One thing that gets me is people complaining about the buffets on carnival, it’s food, it’s decent, and even in this video here there are a lot of decent options if you want a quick bite, which is what it’s meant to be. Overall, carnival is the best vacation value that money can buy, it’s not 5 star, and really isn’t meant to be.

If your cruise is in December, January, or February... go on a whale watching excursion. The whale watching in Cabo during those months is spectacular! If you're adventurous and you think you would enjoy zip lining across a very wide canyon, consider an excursion to Wild Canyon. Most of the sailing and snorkeling excursions are pretty good, too. Avoid excursions to beach clubs or all-inclusive resorts.

I am going to check out Guys Pig & Anchor for the trash nachos & I wanna try the chilli fries as well. Guy’s burgers on Carnival are the absolute BEST! Finally, I agree with u about the dinner buffet. I cruised last January on Carnival & the dinner buffet was not good and did not look good at all!

I might just do that one day. For now, though, I think when you see me doing something more than once in my cruising, you can safely assume that this is my highest form of recommendation. It means it was so worth the money the first time I did it, I am willing to spend money on doing it again. So, for example, when you see me repeatedly going on Carnival's Vista-class ships... there's a reason. When you see me repeatedly staying in The Haven on Norwegian Cruise Line ships... there's a reason. When you see me repeatedly cruising in The Caribbean and the Mexican Riviera... there's a reason. When you see me doing one specific shore excursion every time I'm in a certain port... there's a reason. When you see me doing one cruise with a cruise line and never going back... there's a reason. But yeah, thanks for the idea, and I'll probably do that video sometime!

the pig and anchor is listed as part of included dining for free. So lunch is all free but dinner is a upcharge? Is there still included dining at dinner in addition to the upcharge items?

Carnival has made a lot of changes over the last two years... which was the most recent time that I cruised on Carnival Panorama. What's included and what's not may have changed since then. So, I can only safely tell you how it was two years ago... which may or may not be how it is now. Two years ago, lunch was free at the Pig & Anchor outdoor buffet, which was only open on sea days. Food items at the indoor Pig & Anchor restaurant, which were only available in the evenings, were all a small upcharge.

I totally agree that the dinner buffet, as well as the lunch buffet, are terrible! On the after-cruise surveys, I always complain about the poor food quality at the buffets.

I'm a big fan of Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. Mazatlan... not so much. If you're a beach lover, do the Las Caletas beach excursion in Puerto Vallarta. It's one of my all-time favorite excursions, and I do it every time we visit Puerto Vallarta these days. If you're in Cabo in the January-March time frame, go whale watching.
