Upfront the first thing I realized is that the prices aren’t that different… with Virgin it’s already included and you pay upfront. Carnival Nickles and dimes you over time.

I love the NO KIDS factor of Virgin, but I like FUN even more so Carnival gets my vote! I know the Virgin ship has classier looking rooms and a better "room perks" options, but I NEED a nightlife when I'm stuck on a boat for 7 days! Better parties and atmosphere, yeah Carnival WINS!!!

I did 2 b2b cruises on the Celebration this year. They cut down on most shows, the sail away party , the white party and the 80's party.... approximately 30-40 minutes. What a bomber 😢😮.

Great video. May consider VV in the future. Looking at Celebrity next summer. Carnival is getting alot of neg publicity showing people removed for drugs, locked up for fighting, people laying out in the hallways drunk, etc. After my first major cruise being on HAL I don’t know if I would feel comfortable on Carnival. That’s alot of money to save up and spend only to be met with unruly children and adults.

The worst thing we ever did was take that 1st Virgin Voyage cruise we booked the next 1 before we even got back then we had a carnival cruise on the new Venezia 28 days later chiiiiile we compared everything to Virgin lol we are platinum cruisers with carnival so please understand how hard it is to kick them to the crub after all these years of loyalty lol but the No kids & less crowded-ness WON lol

Virgin Voyages equivalent or alternative to a cruise line’s buffet is the Galley (multiple upscale food court fresh options) and the Dock/Dock House offers mezze and grilled meats all afternoon. Other options outside of the six main restaurants from the pizza place, the social club, coffee shop, Ship Eats 24/7 room service. Even a poke place (limited hours) on deck 17. Also VV DOES have cruise directors. They just do it DIFFERENTLY. They do not hop on the mic with frequent event reminders. That’s what the VV app is for. Thank God. Overhead announcement noise is ANNOYING! We happened to lunch with a CD in Key West in may. Example? He was an entertainer and had classes like mixology as well as hosting Scarlet Night along with another CD who was the drag performer!

Correction- VV does not have cruise directors. They have a cast of entertainers (Happenings Cast).

They all focus on a specific topic or theme: wellness, food, performing art, games & lead a variety of events. The Happenings Cast member we lunched with did explain this but still used the term cruise director.

Sailing on Carnival is like shopping at Dollar General. It is what it is and do not expect anything of high quality. The only decent meals we had were in the specialty restaurants. The rest of the meals were absolutely forgettable. Carnival will nickel and dime the hell out of you. The cruise directors seem to constantly be making announcements. It only took two cruises with them for me to simply wash my hands and walk away. There is a line for everyone and Virgin Voyages is the one for me.
