This was an incredible show. This scene is so amazing. This show was terrifying and inspiring. It was beautiful and dark. The finale leaves us all hanging. HBO, I command thee to bring back Carnivale!!!

It was way ahead of its time! Now we’ve got all these dramatic, mysterious shows all the time, but Carnivale was like an anomaly when it was airing. Came out of left field...!🤔

That was intense. Clancy Brown is a very good actor, very intense, made me uncomfortable- but it was good.

Amazing, this series supposedly cost 1 million per episode, and it was getting a great fan base, and was shut down. I’ve seen stupider shows getting more money, and they are still around .
@RashaKahn3 жыл бұрын
Much more than million an episode, HBO wanted it reduced to 2 million an episode.
@FeArmizare2 жыл бұрын
@@RashaKahn The issue back then was that HBO was still new to doing shows so they did not understand how to make things cheaper/do tax write offs and such. Its the same reason Rome on HBO (another great show) was canceled. They learned from their mistakes and thats why they were able to produce such costly shows like Game of Thrones.
@RashaKahn2 жыл бұрын
@@FeArmizare actually they knew how to do show, HBO has been doing great shows for a VERY long time now. HBO could afford Rome, the problem was half the funding was being provided by a UK network and they pulled out their funding without early enough notice and during mid season 2 filming for HBO make up the difference. Unfortunately by the time they did, Rome already filmed a bunch of episodes ramping down the series. That was a great show I wished lasted at least 5 more seasons.

Hey, I feel the same way about the people who abandoned MillenniuM. LOL, my mom never paid for HBO so we never got to see this series. Clancy Brown is an awesome actor.

ive given up on the series returning to Television maybe reboot? i just wanna know the rest of the story what "books" 2 and 3 had going on/planned (outside of the information found on wiki sites) such a shame

What bloated salaries? It wasn't the salaries, it was the production costs. HBO didn't feel it could sustain the series with its relatively poor ratings (despite the honors bestowed upon it).
@MisterBung17 жыл бұрын
You know what else sucks? HBO won't release the rights so we can get the story continued in comic or novel form either. Bastards.

I will never forgive anyone who didn't support this show. I will never forgive HBO for cancelling it. It was the greatest piece of art I have ever seen, heard, and felt. HBO fucking sucks...imo.

Oh, ok, I understand what you're saying now. But as Daniel Knauf stated, "(HBO has) a fiduciary responsibility toward their stock-holders; the show was hugely expensive; the reviews were mixed; the audience was not large enough to support it." Mr. Knauf posts to the Yahoo! group occassionally.

Someone at least needs to put the rest of the series into graphic novel or something. There was definitely a plan in place for a lot more story development. The ending was so rushed and forced...so much left to explain and tell.
@BiffChunksteak17 жыл бұрын
So the stock holders went for quick easy money in favour of giving Knauf a real chance to become 'large enough to support it'. They apparently judged Knaufs 'product' by 'Seinfeld' standards. Not a great incentive for creative and imaginative fiction writers. Fortunately, now Knauf could quit while he was way ahead and avoid the show to become stale and repetitive.
