Ladco77 Sounds like you’re doing great! Just keep your healthy fats relatively high to begin with. Measure your blood glucose and ketones to see how you’re body’s reacting to different foods. The great thing about Keto and Carnivore is that most people are so satiated by eating nutrient-dense foods (fatty meats, eggs, bacon, butter, heavy cream, cheese, olives, olive oil, coconut oil, etc) that you mostly transition to One Meal A Day (OMAD). Just eat when you’re hungry. Be sure to get enough salt, magnesium and potassium. Add it to your water. I also still love my veggies, salads, zoodles. That’s why I’m sticking to Keto. I may try carnivore for a month or two, but I expect I will always come back to Keto. Dr. Berry use to be a big Keto-Fan, but now he’s moved on to Carnivor. Live and let live 😊I myself have been “Clean Keto” for over 3 years, lost over 40 kilo, wearing my highschool jeans again and feel fantastic! Good Luck to you on your journey!

I found that, once I bit the bullet and went fully carnivore, I totally stopped having any cravings for veg. The gut bugs change over and the new ones only want meat and think that veggies are for bunny rabbits. The gut bugs are where you get those cravings from. The eggs I have raw, the fish I eat raw, and I will eat liver raw from time to time when I'm not fussed cooking it. My wife and I are both happy and healthy and have been for years. Colin Mc Quillan Congrats! That’s quite an achievement. I’m brand new to Keto and I’m trying to catch up on all of Dr. Berry’s informational videos and read lots of comments to learn from others who have achieved success. What I like about Dr. Berry is #1 - he’s not trying to sell you anything. #2 - he genuinely wants to help people, and follows the Hippocratic oath, “first do no harm” and “let food be thy medicine”. He shoots straight from the hip, and walks the talk. I’m just so confused by it all though. I’ve been on a ketogenic diet for 9 wks. and have lost only 11 lbs. (I have 50 more to loose.) I’ve been stuck at a plateau for 6 weeks. Feeling discouraged, I cheated one time, but then immediately picked myself up, and got back on keto. I do have hypothyroidism, which I think is holding my weight loss back. Two weeks into the diet, I broke out with a pimply, itchy, burning red rash on my face, neck and upper chest; my face swelled up too. I thought it might be “keto rash”. I happened to comment about the rash on one of Dr. Berry’s videos, and he replied, “see a doctor” which I did, and the dermatologist diagnosed “rosacea”. I’m not sure I agree, but I am applying the topical antibiotic she prescribed. The redness has subsided & it’s not as reddened, itchy & burning like it was, so maybe she’s right.🤷♀️ I was never a big meat eater so going carnivore kind of scares me. I’ve heard of “ketovore” and wondering if that might be a way to transition. I wish I lived near Dr. Berry, I would definitely become one of his patients!

Dr. Berry, you have really changed my life. Like many people, I have struggled with my weight for many years, particularly after I had my 3 children. I didn’t realize how much my metabolism was changing at that point but my weight just kept climbing. I tried so hard to figure out how to lose weight and even went on a leafy veg only diet one entire summer, losing 25 lbs only to gain it all back and then some. I had given up and didn’t care anymore and then my weight started to affect my body in the form of pain in just about everything I did, and it affected my life as well. Not wanting to go do fun things. Then I ran across your video on a Hack to help you lose 50+ lbs. I am so thankful to you for putting these videos on because this is working for me. I do my best to stay carnivore and have lost weight (15 lbs) almost effortlessly and I feel great. Funny thing is that a few years ago a friend of mine tried to get me to do Keto but I wasn’t motivated by her campaign. Your videos really put everything into perspective for me and I know I will have great success with this. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🙏

Dr. Berry, Thank you for all that you do. Your videos have helped me in so many ways. I am four weeks into my diabetic journey (at least as diagnosed with 11.6% HA1C) and 4 weeks into my keto/carnivore journey. I have lost almost 20 lbs. and have never felt better. My only advice to others is to stay the course, keep it clean and stop the snacking. I know many people are worried about starting this diet...lifestyle...thinking they will be hungry, but I have never felt hunger pains at all except for early in the morning right before breakfast, and I have been nothing but amazed that what you say will happen happens exactly that way on this diet. I am transitioning from keto to carnivore slowly, and I have even overcome that third week stall. I pray for you and trust that God will continue to bless your practice and that your message will be received with eager ears and hearts that desire to be healthy. -Kevin

All my life I have been eating the wrong type of food. Lots of bread, pasta, potatoes, fries... When I was young I got away with that, but as I grew older something was going wrong. I gained way too much weight and I started having all kinds of infections, like frozen shoulders. I tried conventional diets, like reducing the calorie intake. That was not a joke, as I was always hungry. With low carb food and intermittent fasting my problems disappeared. I lost weight and I feel much better.

Thanks, Dr. Berry. I lost 68 pounds on keto, but over the past two years, have slowly gained most of the weight back. I think I’ve been letting my carb count slowly creep up by including all the manufactured “keto” convenience foods, as well as a lot of homemade keto treats. Sadly, I’m finding it increasingly difficult to get back in to ketosis now, even when I severely restrict these foods. I think I’m going to give the “ketovore” or carnivore diet a try, and see it that gets me back on track.

I love Dr. Berry, he makes so much sense. I bought his book even before he started on all the diet stuff.. I've been trying carnivore - off and on (because of discouragement) for the past six months. After listening to a degree's worth of material on carnivore,, reading, YT and podcasts, I decided to try it to see if it would affect my issues. I'm 84, 4'10" and have both hbp and lipedema. I was helped a lot by keto, but then covid happened and got up to 151 lbs. After 6 months, more or less, of carnivore, I am now 146 lbs, have remained constipated whenever I stick to the diet, but it has helped my (mild) emphysema and I do have a lot more energy and can even run now. Also my hair is thicker. My bp is variable, usually between the 120's to 140's - before keto it was more likely to be 160=170. From everything I've heard about the carni diet, it sounds like it will cure everything up to and including death. But in 6 months (more or less) I've lost 15 lbs, no inches. But I am still alive! So I've decided to stick to keto but I'm disappointed because I don't have a dishwasher and carni is a much simpler way to eat.. But at least I 'm losing weight on keto. Also when I was on keto (pre-covid) my legs were shrinking, but not at all on carni. Hopefully back on keto they will start to shrink again. But I am disappointed. Either I'm the only one whose ever failed at this diet or the only one whose admitting it. From what I've read, it could be due to my lipedema.

I have been on both keto and carnivore over the years. Both done long term and both done seriously with no junk food included. Carnivore beats keto hands down for me. On keto I had super high ketone ratings and my seizure disorder improved somewhat but, on carnivore, I have low but steady levels of ketones and my seizures are completely gone. Not just a bit better but GONE. I call my diet the RESST. Ruminants (grass fed and eaten nose to tail), Eggs(free range), Seafood(wild caught), Spices(all organic), and Tea (herbal only). Once in a blue moon I will have some mushrooms on my steak or some avocado on my burger but I consider those to be condiments, not foods themselves.

Gosh it stings to hear some tough words like this but Ive lately found them to be so true. My husband and I have been keto for 4 years now and I actually am now 5 months postpartum from a successful keto pregnancy! In the beginning of our keto journey I was very strict until I reached my optimal weight! Then I began incorporating the fatbombs and baked goods. Luckily I was able to maintain my weight with no challenges eating that way for the last several years. Now however, my postpartum body seems to be telling me its time to reassess my method haha. The 20lbs still remaining after delivery is now down to 9lbs but I’m definitely stalled. Even with cutting out the baked goods my progress remains slow so next week I’m going to ATTEMPT keto-carnivore. I tried strict carnivore once for 3 days and I was miserable ( I also know this is a ridiculously short amount of time for any diet change but still)! This time I’m praying my increased research and knowledge will help me to be more successful! Thanks for all you do Dr.! You’ve been a total game changer for us!

I simply don’t feel well without leafy green vegetables in my diet, and I’m convinced it’s because of the many nutrients they provide. I eat a very varied diet on keto, including cheese and heavy cream, but keep my carbs under 20g/day. I don’t eat nut flours or any processed ‘keto’ shakes/bars etc, or make keto versions of carb-based foods like bread/cakes or whatever, and no exogenous ketones. All of my inflammatory issues (asthma, arthritis, severe bloating, lifelong crippling heartburn) are completely gone. Perhaps other people need to do full carnivore, but for me a keto diet seems perfect and allows me to enjoy cooking with far more ingredients and flavours and get the nutrients that greens provide. I cook with onions, even a little carrot in a large recipe, and just keep the carb count per portion very low. Perhaps I’m lucky to be able to get the health benefits I need from this and not full zero carb carnivore eating. I think I would also find that too restrictive and cause me to want to cheat more, though I understand why people are saying they find the simplicity of carnivore helps them not get into ‘lazy’ keto mode. I’m very happy with keto and I believe it is healthier for me.

Second topic would be urine strips. I know meters like Keto mojo are the better way to read ketone levels but the strips get pretty pricey when one is checking levels a few times a day to see how certain foods or Fasting is effecting their body so I prefer to spend my money on good meats instead. When i dont eat for 20 hours I always feel better than when I eat anything and I never even thought weirdly about it. Ill try changing my diet and hopefully after I eat Ill be feeling as good as when I'm fasting

I started watching your videos about 4 weeks ago when I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I’m on metformin...started Keto diet as well....I’m down 12lbs as of today! I’m starting to feel better. No more night sweats, acid reflux is starting to go away, blood pressure is under control, blood sugar is at a manageable level, sleep apnea is improving, not snoring nearly at the volume I was before (my wife said), and I quit smoking. I’ve got a long way to go but it’s a GREAT START! I can’t wait to report back to my primary care physician in November!

How are you doing now? Were you able to keep it going?

Steamed broccoli is a good veggie. Agreed. No such thing as keto cake pr bars. Nuts can be good. Raw heavy cream with coffee is great

Dr. Berry, I'd like to hear your thoughts on histamine intolerance.
@steakovercake39864 жыл бұрын
Me too. My girlfriend who is affraid of doing carnivore has histamine intolerance and she has such a hard time avoiding them entirely. We have cut alot out for her but stillllll everyday she eats at least one item with histamines
@bxnbwc23954 жыл бұрын
@@steakovercake3986 Try to cook daily with fresh food if you can. Try not to eat egg white (trigger histamine). Any left over should be frozen ASAP (stop and slow histamine). Don't eat any aged food (cheeses, pickle, butter,...). I have experience with histamine. My son and I have had eczema. Good luck.

@@bxnbwc2395 thanks alot! I haven't heard egg whites do that before. Did you get rosacea as well?

@S Harveyyikes. Glad you're doing better! Sounds pretty severe. Curious what your symptoms were.

How can you tell if you have this issue?

I've been told that I have arthritis in my feet (not good news at 57 years old and overweight!) as well as T2D so I have skipped straight to the carnivore diet as of this past Tuesday (March 1). Today is Friday. I love the carnivore diet! I can't get it wrong! I need something this easy. I plan to avoid the scale and trust the mirror but this morning I was curious.... I was down 2 pounds since Tuesday. I am sure it's water weight and inflammation going down, but that still counts! I'm going to go back to my original plan of avoiding frequent visits to the scale and give myself time to let those numbers amaze me lol Thank you for your practical wisdom and simplicity!

I avoid sugar and anything that turns into sugar. Simple as that. (I also avoid the phony oils.)
@karine87382 жыл бұрын
Ok that is simple... so no sugar, that is good. But anything that turns into sugar, meaning bread, pasta, fruits ? I know berry and strawberry is ok but the other fruits I mean... ? Is lentil, chick pea good too ? Can you help me a bit please ? I want to do it more simple. I am in keto for 19 days now. My husband is missing bread, I bought good natural bread sprouted or no gluten. I take olive extra virgin and avocado oil. Sometime I thInk about carnivore too. As you see, I am mixed and trying to find my way in all this. It look Ithe way you write it that what I like. My body hurt big time, no energy etc have health issue so that is not easy to find out but what I know is I am ready to do anything to get back healthy. I started fasting too. If you can elaborate more, I will so so much appreciated, like doing what you can eat or not. Sorry for the long message, hope you can help me in a way ! Thanks !

Carnivore for this gal! Keto is too much of a slippery slope of trying to make all sorts of foods "keto-friendly" which leads me to over-eat keto treats, etc. Carnivore is so easy for me to stick to and I feel so much better!!
@KetoCarnivoreLifestyle2 жыл бұрын
Yesssss me too. When I think to much on food and prep even for keto it creates cravings mentally. Carnivore is simple.

I broke my 36 fast with some sweet items and now my heart feels like it's beating very fast and I feel crappy. I think carnivore wins
@XXXmar1234 жыл бұрын
Why did you break your fast with sweet items? Thats just silly.

Very interesting and clear. I've found some of these concepts a bit confusing, and your explanation was very straightforward and concise. Thanks so much!

I've developed bloating and has after a bout of food poisoning. My digestive system is very sensitive. I was thinking of going keto again, but now you've made me think of carnivore. I have thyroid issues so maybe it's worth a try

I'm so glad you made this video in particular. I had success with keto until I started eating so-called keto food and not making it myself.

Great video. I lost all my weight on a strict whole food keto diet. I do eat more snacks and my body doesn’t like it. I may be switching to carnivore once my snacks are gone. ( my wife would kill me if I don’t eat those first.). Thanks again for setting me straight.
