Btw i still fancy the oldskool type of cars as they were not that problematic and very simple to maintain plus there was that kafeeling one could get when shifting the gears it was just amazing😅. Hey Erick so a bit of clarification. They came with a 4A-GE red top only not GTE or GZE. The 4AGE black and silvertop came after 1993 especially with 100/110s the AE90/91 performance engines were 4AGE and 5AFHE. If you want the high end of this car (which I own) is SE Limited G version. Has power windows, performance long gauge dash, central locking, bit bigger throttle, relevant engine sensors and dual exhaust. And on affordability, mechanical parts are dirt cheap because of shared platform up to 2004 Toyotas and some Hondas but the aesthetic external parts eg genuine lights are kinda expensive.

This is a vehicle one can choose among many any time any day. There is also the AE 91 G grade that came with stabilizer bars and links both front and rear. It has very good handling. (Independent suspension front and rear) Thank you Erick Wokabi. We appreciate technology but this is one of the best content you have done. For such a car with that score at this time is excellent. I wonder how many newer versions would score the same at that age?

Is it possible to review any of the first three B11-B13, they would really give a great comparison to this Corolla generation? i.e from E80, AE90 to E100. Keep up the amazing content wasee. These cars were bullet proof.... especially those 5A engines and also the 4A! I have seen these engines swapped in several different cars like the Peugeot Partner. I used to own one and so did my brothers .... mine was the AE92 and theirs the AE91 SE Limited and as such I would like to make a few corrections. The AE91 came with a 5A engine and as you mentioned, swapping these engines, especially the "A" series engines was a piece of cake. The AE91 was not performance oriented but if I recall, they came with a stabilizer bar but in the front only unlike the AE90. The AE92 was performance oriented and came with the 4AGE series of engines. These had both front and rare stabilizer bars and a stabilizer bar that comes fitted on top of the shocks so when you open the bonnet, you see the bar on top of the engine going from one shock to the other. The AE92 was also the chasis code for the performance Truenos/Levins (which I still own to this day but mine is the AE101 variant). Non performance Levins/Truenos came with a 5A engine and were AE91s. Also, AE92s came with disc brakes all round and were excellent at stopping especially if you use semi-ceramic brake pads. Another aspect was the manual came with sport ratio gearbox in the 92. You can sport the performance ones since the had printed on the back door GT Twin Cam 16. Also on the boot and the front grill. But am sure these days, most of these labels have been painted over since these cars are old. Another correction was that there was no 4A-GTE though some people have turboed their cars and given it that designation.... it wasnt there from the factory. All these 4A engines were 1600cc or there abouts. The lowest 4A grade was the 4A-FE. Next was the 4A-GE (thats where the real fun starts though the FE wasnt bad). Next was the supercharged 4A-GZE Great video guys. I look forward to each episaode.

I would like to clarify here Erick that Toyota never really made the 4A-GTE engine you are talking about. Toyota only made 4A-GE and the supercharged 4A-GZE used in Levin GTZ. Turbo-charged 4A-GEs (aka 4A-GTEs) were or are only built by individuals who turbo-charge their 4A-GEs.

love this car you can easily buy a decent one for 200k then spend another 200k on engine overhaul, new interior and repaint and sure enough this car will easily last longer than some of this jp cars that cant even reach 150k km without issues
