This is the best lesbian romance movie I have ever watched. Carol and Therese are just made for each other. You can feel their passion.

omfg! I just adore the way Cate says the "would you like to come visit me this Sunday" phrase. I could watch her saying this forever with that exact expression

OMG, OMG... I just died and went to heaven. Thank you Elizabeth Karlsen for getting the film financed, Todd Haynes for directing it, and Cate Blanchett for starring in it. Finally a great lesbian movie.

When Cate/Carol says "Bon Appetit" she looks exactly like a wonderful sly nice fox.

If she said that to me, I would have been a mess. I also loved the Kate McKinnon Parody. Even Cate found it hilarious. She cried laughing.

Thank you so much for this clip! I absolutely love when both Abby and Carol turn around and get a glance at "her". It was so hard to find a clip that doesn't cut this out. Everything is so magical in this movie, even Abby's part (played by Sarah Paulson) is so incredible!

Yes, when The Book first came out, so many Women "Thanked" her for doing what most Books of that Genre couldn't do because of the Laws of that time. "Have A Happy Ending". Another terrific Book with a Gay Theme is Small G. It's about a Man named Rickey whose a Graphic Designer who lives in Zurich's equivalent of The Gay Village and the people he associates with. Kind of like Tales Of The City Of Europe.

You know what's so amazing. They didn't really know each other all that well but what helped was that they had the Whole Day to do this scene which helped a lot in terms of their performances. By the time they did the scene in The Restaurant where they had Tea, also took a full day but by then, they were so comfortable in this scene. Do you think Harge took the Car away from Carol which resulted in her taking a Taxi, when she saw Therese walking looking so conservative and professional, she was on her way to work, and then when they met later on it must have been a Friday Night. I also loved the scene where Therese left and she walked one way and the African American Couple walked the "other" way. I said this on another Channel but I sometimes wondered if they thought of their Ancestors (Grandparents or Great Grandparents) and realize how much things changed.

All I can keep thinking is "are they gonna screw up the book, are they gonna screw up the book"... it's a very scary thing to love a book so much and see it twisted and warped. I hear the film is exellent though so I am trying to relax. Someone sing me Soft Kitty!!!

No worries :) Carol is one of my favourite books of all time. In all genres. I would have been very sad to not have the opportunity to be able to connect with the story without being able to use my own imagination. Also the film is somewhat different.

This scene is so impressive but Why rooney didn't chew spinach ?
@jasminep61985 жыл бұрын
Creamed spinach so it was probably runny and easy to swallow like soup.. lol
@skylarkelvinnattayakwon71213 жыл бұрын
She was nervous and tried to eat as polite as possible or at least looking as graceful as Carol. It was as if the slightest chewing sound would have missed the essence that Carol was speaking to her. She tried not to take her eyes off Carol. Causing the spinach to be nearly spilled.
@missbelivet8 ай бұрын
It was accidental, but this mistake by Rooney Mara avoided the cutting room as it perfectly highlighted the contrast between the more assured and sophisticated Carol versus the "still finding herself" Therese. :)
