It's so hard to believe these characters aren't real people, they are so brilliantly acted and the writing so superb. I see my family in them, and I'm sure many other people do, too. I remember watching these skits when they were originally on. We didn't realize the talent that was right before us. Today's shows can't hold a candle to this one.

Carol embodies the craziness that is Eunice! From her walk, to her wild facial expressions, like at 10:07! It floors me every time I click on these episodes and see her with that hairdo and damn outfit. And then she talks and the accent spews out lol. I often keep my playlist of The Family on repeat. I always felt sorry for the Ed character, played so brilliantly by Harvey. He was constantly humiliated and taken for granted by both of those high-strung (a nice way to say it) women, and was always shot down. I think he would have risen to the challenge if he had been given any respect or consideration. He gravitated toward Mickey Hart (another stellar characterization) because he was given respect by his employee. He was probably very effective at the hardware store. The worst insult was when Eunice told her sister Ellen that "Duke Reeves" was the only man she ever loved! And that she ended up "stuck with" Ed!

There is a Eunice movie. Not sure if it is still on KZbin. It was depressing at the end because Mama died, and Ed left her.

swtv1754 Oh, sure! I absolutely saw that as a kid. But, I was thinking about a motion picture that’s released in the theaters. Mama’s mouth would probably be funny as hell, since she would not be censored as much! 😂😂😂

Good for Ed. Leave those miserable old bats to duke it out! To funny. Eunice and Mama’s hair are hysterical. Not to mention the only dress she owns. Love the way Ed poured Mama’s epsin salts. Love watching these old shows. Mama n Eunice will be fine just drinking beer all day! Lmao!

The masters of Dysfunction! After this episode, Folks will be running to the Alter. This is the stuff nobody warns newly weds about. It’s as if Eunice the poster child for prenuptial agreements. Loved this show.

Tragi-comedy at its best. Outstanding performances all round.
