Tony Randall, Helen Gurley Brown, and Martin Gabel join the panel (I saved the walk-on because I loved Brown's description of Martin as "sexy"--I happen to agree!). Many incorrect guesses are made, and Carol ends with much shameless plugging of her upcoming TV special.

At the Kennedy Airport, Miss Channing was about to get into a long long white limo, when I yelled out to her, "Love you Carol !" She stopped, looked at me with roses in her arms, walk up to me and gave me a huge hug and said " Love you too darling. " than a big man took her arm and escorted to her limo and she was whisked away. When I got into my taxi, I found a single rose petal stuck in my jacket. I still have it. What a thrill, what a true lady and legend. One classy women indeed to treat her fans with such love. Bless her.

Dear J. Louis V., I am hoping with all of my heart, for you, that this story truly happened. If not, thank you for kindly sharing your thoughtful words! I have always simply adored Carol Channing. Every time I hear her sing, “Hello, Dolly!” I tear up. She was such a beautiful and lovely lady. Cherish your rose petal.

joe stewart I mean people are more open and honest about how they feel now and are more free to express themselves, you didn’t have those same freedoms back then. This may look nice in a bubble, but you need to really critically think about what that would mean for your character socially and personally, it’s not all happy and perfect in reality.

It's mostly pretend. This expectation stifles any self expression. Real emotions and individual thought is heavily suppressed. Violence and abuse gets kept in the dark. Women and children had no way out from abusive father's/husband's. And the way people dressed and behaved on TV in the 50s did not actually represent most people. We bought into a false narrative about the 50s.

One of a kind. My mother did a perfect imitation of her. She should've been the film, not Streisand, who was completely wrong. It was the same mistake not casting Julie Andrews in the film version of "My Fair Lady". Not just cinematic but historical blunders.

3:22- Martin Gabel's incorrect guess of 'Pearl Bailey' was surprisingly close. Not only had Pearl Bailey taken over the leading role of 'Hello, Dolly' from Miss Channing but, in 2002 when she was 81 Miss Channing would reveal that she herself was part African-American via her own paternal grandmother!

There is a definite 'ticked-off', tone in the voices of the 'regulars'. This nearly perfectly executed attempt to 'fool-the-panel' is a treat that in the History of this Show was long over-due. Randal and Gabel carping about: "what are YOU doing in New York?.." is a hoot. For way too long, the WML panelist, had a pretty damn clear knowledge of who was going to be the 'Mystery guest', after all, they're ALL in the Entertainment business and know each others where abouts, through various Agents, gossips, and reporters, and mostly via smoozing each other in Bars or in restaurants.
