On my fking GOD, I'm sitting here watching this interview and they focus on Cate and I was almost knocked 0ver looking at her, gorgeous is an insult. She is not from this world. WOW! Just mesmerizing.

I look forward to this film...having grown up in the 50's/60's and came out in the 70's I can appreciate the complexities of having society force one in a straight role while growing, maturing... the greatest love I found was at age 40... it was with a straight woman who played out her role as a wife and mother, but still felt she was not contented... such a tsunami... transforming...we are together now for 25 years. But I still see the same struggle in today's society... it's still not all that forgiving in people's isolated worlds, as people would think... laws may improve but attitudes can be quite rigid. LGBTQ suicides are still some of the highest...

Good Lemon People underestimate Rooney. Even the directors that work with her say she is a brilliant actress. She has a BA in Psychology. I think the films she chooses have a undertone of some kind psychological twist.

I’ve watched this so many times and I’m still not sure what’s going on. After Rooney made her comment and Cate said “you resisted” Rooney ignores that and if you watch the look on Cate’s face, she doesn’t look happy

Rohan Raghav when the interviewer said to Rooney it’s difficult not to fall in love with Cate. Rooney says yes even now. Cate says you resisted. Rooney ignored her comment. then the look on Cate’s face is not happy. Don’t know what happened between the two of them that day. There was a lot of tension. When they went out for the photographers. Rooney looked like she didn’t want Cate to touch her in one or two places. I just seem to notice anything that’s off. However they were fine during the premiere. Happy and friendly. This was just weird.

@@bdtibbs1 I see that you mean. It is indeed odd :0 I've noticed that Rooney sometimes does that in other interviews as well .... I don't think she's being deliberately rude . Perhaps she's nervous and overwhelmed with having to deal with the interviewer and can't address Cate's remark since she's focusing all her attention and energy on answering the question posed to her . Who knows :/

Rohan Raghav I agree we don’t really know. I loved the movie. Watched it many times. Excellent actresses. Quite honestly I never really knew Cate until this movie. Of course Rooney is new also. Didn’t really go to movies. Now that I have prime video and Netflix, I’m catching up

Is Rooney so shy or simply unintelligent? I imagine Cate Blanchett sets the bar so very high by being incredibly eloquent but Mara seems to be as articulate as a 9 yo kid.

***** I take it you dine with both of them then. I am also surprised to learn that being at a premiere of an exquisite film and answering questions about it can be nerve-wrecking :D She has quite an experience herself, she's done quite a few blockbusters, press conferences, red carpets and other stuff. She was so quick and and kind of smug to say she was very often naked in films (Cannes press conference), yet she is unable to answer questions about the character she played. And btw, I would love to make Cate frown so please tell her (since you dine with her) there is a ridiculous comment on youtube that she needs to see :D

Not necessarily. I've only seen her in 3 films so far and the sneak previews of Carol made me think she could actually be a good actress. But then in the press conference and this interview she comes across as a rather inarticulate person. Perhaps those things are not inseparable. Meryl Streep, regarded by many as one of the great actors, is not very articulate either.

Rooney is shy and quite person,,as she said she only says what she thinks and only smile when really happy,,, I remind when playing the girl with the Dragon tattoo,she got over Scarlett Johansson ,Natalie Portman, Emma Watson Jennifer Lawrence.. with Carol she was first chosen person but she confused ,,after many years Todd invited her again,,she nodded because she wants to working with Cate and Todd..so you think if is she talent???
