Our church organist played this every year since I was a kid. Everyone waited around in anticipation after the service before Christmas or Christmas Eve. I can hear in my mind the places she hesitated for page turns! She retired several years ago. Really miss hearing it.

I have tried doing those 16th notes chords in the Scherzo on two manuals with the same registration coupled together as you did, but then found it was easier to play one F#/G chord with one hand and just slide my fingers off the F# onto the G and alternate hands between pairs of F#/g chords. Wokrs like a charm for me. Much easier than jumping from inversion to inversion of the same chord in one hand.
