This moving piece is said to be the very last composition of Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738), created on his death bed. This version is from O'Farrell's Pocket Companion for the Union Pipes. Played on pipes by Thomas Scott in around 1810, with an early positioning of regulator notes,
giving easy access to chords going especially well with this air.
