I didn't realize that the time you harvest is important for a higher nutrient content.

You need DIY self wicking pot from the gardening with Leon channel! They self water, and it’s so easy. Even my sweet containers work well.

Thank you for the great video, and message from Pan. :-) Perhaps some trays under the pots that you fill up will ease your watering duties? I also discovered that Okra pods can have very irritating hairs on them. The first time I harvested and washed the pods by hand, I had all sorts of hair like slivers in my hands, that were hard to get out as they were so thin. From then on, I harvested and washed the Okra with gloves on. I have only grown a few pods, as I am growing in Canada. :-) I also love Okra, so was hoping to increase my yields by bringing them indoors as it gets cold.

Thanks so much for showing your appreciating for my including the message from Pan. I sometimes wonder if I'm going too weird when I include that. Now, I feel really good about it and will continue to do so thanks to you! ♥❤♥♥ Good idea about putting trays under the pots. About extending the growing season. I wonder if you could start the seeds indoors ahead of the growing season, then, when the baby plants start poking out of the soil, put the pots out. You can put them out earlier if you make a mini-greenhouse. I cut away the bottom of an empty gallon (or whatever size it is called in Canada - 4-litre?) plastic water jug and put it over the baby plants leaving the lid of the jug off. If you're really consciousness, you can put the lid on overnight to retain heat, but you have to take the lid off during the daytime or it will burn the plants. I've made mini-greenhouses like this with baby pepper and tomato plants when I transplant them into the garden to reduce planting shock. Also, the Jambalaya variety of okra is supposed to ripen 10 days to 2 weeks ahead of Clemson Spineless. I wish you luck with this year's crop. If you think of it, I'd love to hear from you about how things went. 🌻🌺🌺🌹🌹

Your videos are awesome - always a pleasure to watch/listen to your tips and tricks! Thank you. Would you mind uploading a video about your stint with NASA? That sounds amazing.

Thanks for the compliments and encouragement. It's great to hear from you. About my NASA experiences - I'll put that in my hat for a possible future video. For now, for your interest, I worked as a photojournalist for a NASA contractor onsite for the Office of Public Affairs at a NASA research center. That meant that my photos appeared in publications in the US and all over the world. I love creating beauty in photographs and especially enjoyed that I moved throughout the center taking photos of amazing aircraft and spacecraft models in various research facilities and also got to travel to document experiments. In addition, the people were great.

When it is really hot and your okra is wilted, it doesnt always mean it needs water. I wilt, too, when it is hot. So do plants, even if they have enough water. Then they perk back up when it cools off. If you truly have to water 4 times a day, you need water retaining soil, a bowl under your pot,and/or, as someone said, a wicking system

Thanks for the info. As it turns out, my okra did not perk up after it cooled down. I tested it out. In the end, I believe I needed better soil. I also like your suggestion of a bowl under my pot. The wicking system sounds good too.
