Other than for travel, I could never understand the purpose of a pocket trumpet. I bought a cheap $300 pocket trumpet so I could keep one in my car so i could play with one hand wile commuting on interstate or parked, but other than that, I never use it. Just stays in my car

I use my pocket trumpet on 95% of all my gigs. It has many advantages for me. A $300 pocket trumpet is not the way to go. You get what you pay for. Invest in a quality pocket trumpet, and maybe you'll have a different opinion.
