I never considered myself a looker but people said I looked like Sandy Duncan or Carol. Back then. To me that’s a compliment. Because I always thought of myself as a ugly duckling especially the school I went to. Love these ladies and Vicki Lawrence. Watching them tonight. Maybe it was the redhair probably.

I remember watching Melba's show when I was a kid. She's energetic and spunky, and in her show she was adorable in a floppy, coltish way. Lots of personality. It was barely the 1970s, a simpler time? Definitely less enlightened. It was pretty rare to even see a male nurse back then. I try to take everything in context. But, speaking for the entire gay community 🙄 🤔 lol&jk, 93% of us would have laughed harder than the non gays, God love 'em. 😉🙃 I don't think we take things such as a campy nurse, as seriously as ppl think we do. You gotta be able to laugh at yourselves sometimes. It keeps you humble! Life's too serious to take it thusly.
