My all time favorite Carole King song. Still remember when this first hit in 73/74. My girlfriend and I would play this and the whole album over and over. So uplifting.

Tremendous song as almost everything Carole has written or sang over the decades. Her album Tapestry is the gold standard of singer songwriters album. Songs like Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow and You Make Me feel Like a Natural Woman!

Through all her career she was mostly a songwriter and really didn't think of herself as a singer until one day she was convinced to sing the songs she writes and with some reluctance she agreed so when she wrote Tapestry, she sang her songs and we all loved her for that

The great Tom Scott on Sax. I saw him in 1976 at college in the gymnasium. I went to the concert because I had heard him on many Steely Dan albums and his concert turned me onto to Jazz. I went on LSD and sat on the floor in the middle of the basketball court. I lost my legs, I think they fell asleep, but it seemed much more while tripping. A great concert and he opened up the show with this song.

Finally someone reviews a non-Tapestry Carole King song. Most people think Tapestry was all she did, but all her 70's albums are great too, my favourite being Music, which was released in the same year as Tapestry (later in 1971), which makes me think that maybe they are songs didn't make the cut for Tapestry.

I can’t ever choose a favorite Carole King song, but when this song came out I was thinking how amazing was this song in comparison to the songs on Tapestry. I just couldn’t get enough of it. It still on my playlist today, she is such a musical genius. Another different song from Tapestry that you should listen to is Smackwater Jack, great storytelling by Carole about a controversial subject by today’s standard.

Carole King has written more hits than you can count. She even wrote a hit song for her babysitter Little Eva ( 'Loco-Motion'), and it was a huge hit back in 1962.

Two additional facts: carole King's album, wrap around joy went ti billbiard's number 1 position for 2 weeks. .....and the instrumental part of jazzman was used as the "bump music" for Saturday night live during the mid 1970s. 'Bump music" is the sounds the orchestra plays going from live performance to a commercial break and then again from the commercial break to the live performance.

I just found your reaction to this song today, so I don't know if you listened to a live version on your own or haven't gotten around to it. There is a live performance on a TV show from the 70s that is pure wrap around joy, lol. Highly recommended. Great upload.

For the synth sound effect I would be certain it’s either and electric piano or you could be confusing it with Scott’s sax 🎷 (I’m a Carole king Stan) 😀
