I don't believe she loved Oprah very much at all, surely everyone knows that by now? As someone who wasn't loved by their mother either, it affects you for life even when you think you're over it. No matter how much money she has or how successful she becomes there will always be apart of Oprah that still feels unloved by her mother, perhaps that's what has fuelled her ambition?

+Gary M: Many adult children don't ring their parents every single week...and it doesn't mean anything sinister. Some people do have busy schedules and are close to family members without being enmeshed with them. But that said...for a long time, Vernita was an ass to Oprah and sensitive Oprah avoided her. I get the feeling all Vernita had to do was give Oprah a wrong look and Oprah would start to cry. But thankfully, Vernita received counseling, stopped being a jackass to Oprah and the two of them began to have a better relationship. Oprah along with her other half-sister, Pat was at her mum's side when Vernita died last Thanksgiving in 2018. Vernita and Oprah's last words to each other were *I love you.* Oprah mourned her mum and she and Pat made sure her mum's last wishes were respected.

I have read some of y'all remarks about what kind of mother she wasn't. But let me say, first of all, ye that is without sin cask the first stone!!! She may not have been the kind of mother that society should have been. She made mistakes like we all have done and still do. But she did give her life. Brought her into this world!! None of us was there when this took place so we don't knw the story!! Lets remember tho the words of Christ honor thy father and thy mother that thy days may be long upon the land of this Earth. So regardless of what her faults, flaws, and story was she was Oprah mother's. And Oprah will one day have to answer to maker for that!!!
