IMO. The Middletons would be the stabilising down to earth support for William. Outside of the gold fish bowl existence of Royal life. Carole Middleton always gets press attention - she's a capable, energetic and attractive middle aged mother of three - but her husband, Mike, is also a capable, energetic and handsome father of three. I've heard some stories about Carole pushing her daughter into William's path, and in my view the least likely of them came from Tom Bower. I can't remember the exact tale but it was along the lines of Carole encouraging her daughter to switch from Edinburgh university to St Andrews, but as anyone who has gone through our UCAS (university application) system will know, that isn't how it works. If it did, then the moment the news broke that William was going to St Andrews, there would have been thousands of mothers encouraging their daughters to switch, and St Andrews would have been dealing with the deluge of applications for months.😆 I've no idea why Tom said that because as a university educated man himself, he should know that you cannot switch just because you want to.

It always annoys me when people disparage the Middleton's over the failing of their party supply store. It was during the pandemic and many, many businesses went under. As I recall, people were not allowed to gather for parties during that time in Britain. (Except Boris of course). Many small businesses went under during that time. When William becomes King, Catherine will be called Queen ( as his wife) but she is only a consort; she is NOT a Queen Regnant as she is not the one who inherited the throne. Camilla as Charles ' widow will become the Dowager Queen. Caroline Middleton cannot be as she is not the mother of the Monarch.
