To be fair it isn’t the hardest thing in the world to play

At my high school we took apart half of the trumpet section and put them in mellos, baritones and valved trombones since they had so few numbers in them. Trumpets still had more members than any other section.

@@Alias_SSBU marching it is a whole other story tho, most of the melody comes from it so you're playing a lot, while also playing high notes which is a whole other story

@@Isu908 I get that. But considering that the highest note in the feature is F4 (not very high for even high school players) and they are standing still for the majority of their feature, it wouldn’t be that hard to play even for someone who doesn’t play trombone.

I think it was one of the most forgettable years aside from Babylon tbh The uniform choices this year were super funky too. Cadets, Madison Scouts, Blue Knights, Carolina Crown, even BD which are usually great and on the money with uniforms had a very uninteresting uniform. 2018 felt like the climax of very ugly and taken too far with uniforms but thankfully they seem to taken it back a bit. The worst by far was madison scouts though. Just my take though we all have opinions, not tryna argue or anything

They reason they don’t march trombones in dci is because trombone takes up a lot of room and possibly could hit someone in the head

I think they’re less marching instruments used for an entire show and more feature instruments for effect, either like this or how they used them in downside up. Only exception is if you use them like that the entire show, not much reason to switch to baritone if you’re switching back in like 45 seconds

The trombone 3 part is most definitely not that low at the end. Those partials would read like mud live. Measure 14 is correct. Measure 15 should be stacked Ab, C, Eb from bottom to top. Measure 16 is a Bbsus4 chord and is stacked F, Bb and Eb from bottom to top. Measure 17 would be stacked the same as 16. Bars 10-12 are the same way.

Should be A natural in measure 14 I think to make it a concert F major not F minor chord.

It is A natural. There is no typo in the music there. The natural carries over the barline since it is a tied note.

No to my knowledge no dci corps march trombone although every year a few may have a trombone feature. So no you only need to know bari/euphonium to march dci
