He was trying to get the ref to call an illegal serve on himself because then that would force the ref to call it on Howells.

I always feel like Jesse's hesitance to be at the kitchen is her biggest downfall. I get that you get more time for counters further behind the line but she seems to delay moving up even when bens drops are good, and chills in mid court. Meanwhile she couldnt hit a reset in transition during the whole xd game.

Keeps changing. I guess eventually it will settle on one serve regulation. The new rule of 25% of the ball on the line was only possible when they started using slow motion capabilities.

To the commentator & Howells: no, players should NOT push the serve rules as far as they can. It’s not okay to cheat just because you might get away with it. The spirit of pickleball is fun and fair play. The commentator and Howells need to get on board with that spirit or go back to tennis, or the WWF.

This isn’t suppose to be a rec game this is suppose to be to win. If the rules are set to a certain point as long as you’re not breaking the rules you want to do everything you can to win. That’s why it’s also a mental game out there you can tell.

Every serve Howell serves should be a penalty!! Or have the rules changed 🧐 I am not sure I will watch Howell play because he is obviously not serving correctly and no one is doing anything about it!

Poor Ben, having to play with two female players who are not equipped to compete at this level. When you have partners like them, you have to overcompensate for them, which takes you out of your comfort zone. It doesn’t look good for everyone except for the opponents. Irvine is the biggest weakness of the team and Buckner was not a better choice than Koop.
