I wouldn't be so fast to judge her. I can't tell you how many reporters, journalists, and other public figures use the phrase YOU KNOW." It seems to be a poor habit that is used frequently now more than ever. It doesn't matter the background, or up bringing. It is a lack of conscious awareness in communication especially among generations much younger than Caroline. We know she's not stupid, and often when educated individuals are uncomfortable in public, they go blank on what they want to say. Reporters these days are the worst I've heard. When her father got killed, the White House received letters from the whole country addressed to Jackie. There were from people writing to let her know how badly they felt about her husband and wanted to offer their condolences. An 11 year old girl said that she would babysit for John and Caroline for free. Jackie took it upon herself to not only read, but to personally answer each and every letter she got. It took her a few months to do it. She did it for several reasons. She was deeply touched that these people wrote to her, trying to help her with her grief. So she felt it was duty to try to help them with there's. My own mother got a letter from her and she cried and cried the whole day long.
