Her book "Things I will tell my daughter" is powerful and definitely a hand book for those wishing to raise all-round girls into women, however the lies we tell ourselves and the lies we tell eachother are well outlined in her second book... I literally just paused the video to comment. And now that I say it, well, type it rather, I always pause to comment. I am subscribed, I share, 😉I love your content. Always resonates with me. And if it's something I don't know about I get on it ASAP. Thank you Caroline for giving an example to what a strong confident woman can become. I got the same comment from one of my gym instructors, I told him I might be terminating my monthly payments because life... And he literally goes, wait don't tell me you have been paying for your own membership out of pocket?!?!?! I mean.... talk to me, I'll school you. And the worst bit about what he said besides the blatant disrespect of course is that he believed it in his core, he believed he really was going to help me out. Joan Thatiah, shout out, I love you, obsessed with your books haven't gotten to letters to my son yet, I'm going to ask my sister to get me a copy, and please write more books, got my friends and family on the two and we loooove them!!! I think this thing of "you're too pretty to be broke" is what drives young girls to pursue older 'established' men, old enough to be their fathers. It's great to be pretty but eish!!

its pitiful to raise girls like that. Women have rallied for so long to be seen as more than a face and the wiles they offer when their legs are spread. Women have brains like men and he mothers doing this should have a look at themselves. this is why people raise kids badly and they go out there and the world comes at them harsh and they blame and resent the parents, but the parents knowing they fucked up refuse to step up and accept the mistake and hence a cycle starts. ugh really, you're too pretty to be broke. fanya kazi and earn your own money. there's no peace of mind like when you know no one is coming to knock on your door asking for something when you earn it.
