First I would say it is to train the jump and blocking whenever possible, later it will become a habit. Then, if you do not train, you wont get better. Third: it is also a psychological means to shake the spiker. Even if you cannot reach over the net (yet).

Had a game today, won 2 out of 3 sets but the third went into overtime. Have my last game of the season on Wednesday, and if we win all 3 sets, we’ll go into playoffs. Tbh, these girls do play well but I think if they changed their formations a bit for serving and serve-receive they could be better. Over hand serving is banned from my school board T^T

My only pet peeve, is how they go to the center each time and give each other high fives, it's tacky, and takes up time. My daughter played against a team, good for bad that team always went ot the middle and said, "gooo team" We were dying,, the rest of us watching this each and every time.. come on, get on with it... this isn't has bad as our game though having to watch them pat each other on the back each and every time!

It's for support, even if you don't score you can tell each other "You're okay" or "Good job, at least you tried". It often helps girls if they feel bad about the play they just made, their team could pick them back. Maybe your daughter's team should try and test it out.
