I love Caroline skating! I discovered her a few years ago when all the jumps were OK and effortless. I hope she will have the power to relearn how to jump safely at her new height. Her skating is absolutely beautiful. Good luck! I am happy for your success at these 4cc!

i am so happy Caroline did so well at 4cc after she finished 11 place at national. i hope she will fix all the problems and to be more stronger next season.

Ms. Nagasu was chosen as a skater who represents the figure skating country, U.S., in Olympic Games in Vancouver. For Japanese, it was present surprise because she is Japanese-American. For her long time rival, Ms. Zhang, it must be shocking because Ms. Zhang excelled by the head among the same generation skaters. After she fell in 11th place in U.S. national's in 2010, let's look her performance if she shows enough guts in this 4 Continents Championship.

i havenn't seen caroline in years! i remember skating freestyle sessions at my rink, and i see her skating on the same ice as me. .at the time she wasn't that famous. .but wow, she has improved!& her braces are off! i reaaaally hopee she progresses more through out her skating yeaaars!:D lol

Caroline is obviously a very special skater--with minor technical probelms. Some coaches say it is easy to fix the slamming vaulting leg problem, and I am hoping Caroline can get it corrected. With so many good skatera at the top, Caroline needs to fix these small problems--and I indeed hope that it is an easy fix as some people say it is...

Her other jumps like salchow or loop may not be the textbook ones but are just fine. Speed? I see some improvements. She started slow but gained speed and skated much faster in the second half of the program, which is very nice to see.

Here are my thoughts. Zhang is taller and heavier than a couple of years ago. The mule kick she was used to pulling of the flip and lutz jumps is not working very well (the botched lutz jump here and the falls at nationals and skate canada say it all). She needs to relearn these two jumps (maybe too late? ) . Her 2A is still troublesome, no speed/flow in or out but she seems to manage to jump from a standstill position (she can keep it if cannot be fixed).

@FutureChampion222 Im pretty sure she was injured and it hurts too much to do the pearl anymore. If you think about it the pearl needs a lot more flexibility she probabbly will think of some new spin like Yuna did when she hurt her back. Thats how she came up with "the yuna spin" she hurt her back and the yuna spin made it easier to do the layback i guess. I could be wrong thought hahaha

The commentators are kind of annoying. They keep mentioning Nagasu and how Caroline must be shocked because she's no longer able to keep up, etc. CZ's got beautiful spins and she's very graceful. She just needs to take a year off to rework her technical problems. Hope her coach realizes this and pulls her out this season.

AHHHH! Thank you for the video! I've been looking all over for it. I'm so proud of Caroline for medalling in this event after such a dismal season. However, she still needs to rework her technique if she wants to catch up to Mirai and Rachael. Does anyone know what the commentators are saying in the beginning, by the way?

Another thing Zhang needs to think is her future in USA skating. She didn't skate well at US nationals but does that justify the 88 points she received at nationals? I don't think so. The scores at nationals were inflated as a whole because of the olympic season. The USA judges were clearly done with her. They were trying to keep her down as much as possible.

Well USFSA had to send in a list of alternate skaters for four continents before US nationals. At that time, Ashley Wagner decline thinking she will make the olympic team. So she was not on the list of skaters submit for 4CC. Gao is getting JR World, sasha declined, i guess they didn't think bebe was going to make it. emily wasn't on the radar, and czisny was not on the list incase she makes the olympics

there is a lot that needs fixing with CZ. her skating skills are completely juniorish, she has hardly any transitions into and out of her jumps and sometimes she just looks dead out there. add her lutz, flip and axel issues and the overall slowness of her skating, she's looking at a mountain to climb. she can get better but she has got to at least try b/c this season it seemed as tho she wasn't trying at all. she has all the potential in the world but potential don't count for squat in skating.

Her jumps just aren't smooth and she has that ugly mule kick she needs to get rid of. Also it couldn't hurt if she skated with more speed too. She certainly has some nice qualities tho,
