As a university student my advice would be to not be afraid to change your major! Although I was scared it was the best decision I made. You will feel so much less stressed going through college when you actually enjoy what you’re studying.

Been reading through all the comments and thought to give in my advice as a Senior!☺️ Never be afraid to ask questions. Talking from experience, there are no such thing as ‘dumb questions’. The more questions you ask, the more learnings you will get. And as somebody would say, “If you don’t ask, you will never know.” Good luck to all the freshmen! Don’t stress, college/uni is not as scary as you think!💛

i’m normally a silent viewer but i just graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and i watched this for pure entertainment but i have to say your advice was very useful and applicable!!! Adding onto your advice about taking advantage of the free workshops and events, but there are so many funding opportunities (ie. scholarships, internships, research grants, etc) that your school will offer but may not be marketed well. I have been able to get $10k in research funding and a $20k scholarship throughout my 4 years at the university. I talked, talked, talked to my upperclassmen peers and professors, and spent hours looking up every possible opportunity on the school’s website.

This is so helpful. In Australia we start out school year at the start of the year and end at the end of the year (with breaks in between as well haha) but in saying this I am a senior and this has helped me with making a choice between taking a study gap year and work or go to university/ collage. Even though university is different in England to how it works in America, this video had a lot of general advice that really helped me! I'm entering my first year of university after doing a foundation year (like a year for people who didn't have high enough grades from A-Levels to get into first year straight away) and I'm a little nervous but I know it's going to be amazing! 💙

- do not feel obligated to go to parties: you do not need to fallow what you think college student should do - communication and the way your approach your professors is so important: helps build connections and can have beneficial opportunities - use ratemyprofessor to find good professors for classes, helps you tailor your professors - use the Microsoft 360 plan for benefits during lectures and more! Use AI to help you! - use a planner, planning and organization is key 🔑 apply your syllabus dates to organize what’s coming up inside your planner - get a part time job: you need money to pay for college expenses and more! It pricey out here! It’s worth it! - budget wisely: tuition, food, shopping, and more is expensive so manage your money! - stay in touch with family and people from home 🏠 it will help your mental health - go to events/fairs/work shops bc they will help you navigate college or university better because they give you good info and get to meet new people that can help you in the future! ❤ (Hope this helped) best of luck to anyone going back to school! 🎉
