Wonderful interview, and a fitting tribute to a special lady. I well recall her portrayal of Sharon, the sexy, sassy garage secretary, who effortlessly negotiated the macho man's world she worked in. She was wonderful, and a great role model for my younger self, a wide-eyed schoolgirl glued to her performances! I've come here after watching vintage Crossroads episodes, wanting to find out about Carolyn. She was very charming, and clearly brought a lot of her own personality and sparkle to the character of Sharon. She was actually Canadian, and had worked hard in her youth to lose the accent. I'm so sorry to learn she is no longer with us, after suffering lung cancer. She lived a fascinating life, and left a great legacy of work. At the end of her life she enjoyed success anew on 'The Archers', in a role written especially for her. God bless lovely Carolyn, who thanks to the modern miracle of video/audio, continues to entertain us - the closest to immortality anyone can get.

What a brilliant tribute - the montage at the end almost had me in tears. Carolyn Jones gave the character of Sharon real heart.

There are some characters in a soap that just grab you and pull you in. She was fabulous and am sorry that I have just learned of her demise. I bet you had a great life and wherever you are now will be spreading joy with that lovely smile.

A very nice interview and tribute at the end. She was a very good actress, shared the same name as another good one famous for playing Morticia in The Addams Family.

An absolutely wonderful tribute. Sharon was one of my favourite characters in Crossroads because of her no nonsense attitude. Sad Carolyn passed a little too young but it seems that she had a good career right up until her death including a part in that other famous Birmingham produced soap opera - The Archers.

I remember when she was a familiar face on our screens back in the seventies and eighties and my Mum used to say often how Carolyn reminded her of Bette Davis.
