saw her in Houston for 5 yrs. she did great shows with her band the Imperial Monkeys, they did some great CDs, hard to find now, glad I saw her then, that band rocked --so lucky I was there when she was younger and played long shows in clubs--amazing shows at Party on the Plaza

saw her playin a local club 2night and Damn, the lady just brings it on every level from her soulful mastery of several instruments 2 her singing, which honestly isnt a strong enuff word 2 describe wht she does vocally.., from powerful 2 whisper quite nuance, her vocals are virtually anthr instrument weaving its way thru an eclectic assortment of musical styles and instruments. All delivered with a great amount of energy and emotion. She gained 2 new fans 2night and we left with 2 CDs too!!

This pretty lady is the real deal folks!! Catch her when & where you can...a multi talented singer and songwriter, she can also play slide guitar, mandolin, trumpet, and whistle like nobody's business. Her voice can easily compare to any other womans voice in recorded history for caliber and quality, and her range is amazing.

'saw her 2015 at Rio das Ostras Festival, Brazil ! After the show I met her and said - 'Ya know Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Charlie Patton ?' She said 'yeah' ' I said - 'I saw all of them today through you ! ' She gave me a cozy smile. She's all in one, and a great one.

I saw her at the historic Texan Theater in Greenville, Texas back in April, and OMG! What a performer and what a venue!! That state-of-the-art sound system was made for performers like Carolyn. I got to meet her afterwards, and to tell her what kept crossing my mind. She sounded like she was channeling ANOTHER Texas gem....Janis Joplin!

Eyes flippin' channels 1 night & lo & behold Educational Television/PBS turns me on 2 Carolyn on ACL! Who woulda thunk it? I was blown away. I LOVE it when I come across one of America's Hidden Gems purely by accident! Down & Dirty Texas Blues/Rock served up with steamin' side of Sassy Southern Sexy Swagger by a real woman- the kinda woman you might actually meet at a keg party after the County Fair has shut down for the evenin'...super hot licks by a super hot chick! Luv Ya Carolyn! U Rock!

WOW ! Look at me I can play a lot of meaning less notes ! I ask you did that intro really have anything to do with the song ? Not to my ear. Give me a soulful intro from the heart any day ! Where is the EMOTION--the REAL BLUES ? She just starts sounding like all the rest--NO INDIVIDUALITY !
@bloozedaddy12 жыл бұрын
listen to the album version of "I Found The Lions" that's her at her orginal best...very few men or women can match the emotion and groove of that song.

She is phenomenal. Why isn't she given the recognition she deserves? Oh, yeah, that's right. She's a chick. She is out of this world. I got to fin out more about her.
@michaelsix96845 жыл бұрын
recognition is not guaranteed for anyone in the music biz, it often comes very late if at all, check out Chris Duarte--awesome blues rocker, and he can top this lady--I've seen both

Saw her at Dan Electro's in Houston. Killer. There was no bass player -- the keyboard guy played keys with one hand and a bass keyboard with the other.

Seriously? This to me is just another run of the mill blues. Are we not tired of this stuff already? I know I am.

I read in the WSJ “...she’s been compared to SRV...” It’s bullshit like that - promotional overkill that does nothing to help her career. She’s pretty good but nowhere nohow, no way ever comparable in any way to SRV. Why do people say such things?
