Inigo Jones was my ancestor. One must remember Kings, too, must have some place to live. Architects, builders, painters and gilders only do the Kings bidding!

Very informative. I loved the colorful description words she used. Even though this was very educational, it is pretty dry, even though I know it's all spoken in proper, perfect English.

Sorry, but the boring intonations of the narrator's voice combined with the at times lack of coordination between the narrative and video and the very questionable music playing in the background rendered this unwatchable for me.

This documentation is so dry, so boring. It just gives details like a catalogue or something, but nothing more

Did they ever break the Da Vinci code in that great historic art? Might not be as dull as the comments say.

Started off OK but half way through diverts to various kings & queens of Europe! Very stilted delivery & awful picture quality (on my HD TV), one to miss I think.

There are those who would complain if they were hung with a new rope. Thus, far I have never paid any money to view any presentation on KZbin. I was pleased with this most enlightening and informative video presentation. Thank you, Carolyn McDowall, for posting this here on KZbin, for my own and others viewing pleasure.

this is absolute rubbish documentary - 'Northern Ireland' did not exist in those days. The British monarch was the monarch of the whole island of Ireland

Lots of good historical information delivered by one of the worst narrations ever. Her voice cracks, it's monotone, & pauses are placed inappropriately. Yes, the picture is fuzzy but it is an older pre-digital TV production. Too bad the script is not written for a TV audience which explains why its so dry. If you're not really into this subject matter, save yourself a boring half hour on this one.

Subject matter is the most fascinating, but video production materials and especially sound recording quality is awful Thanks to whoever it was that tried to piece together a video with these antiquated and low quality recordings.

James Grigg All that wealth is spent employing hundreds of staff, staff who wouldn't have a job otherwise. The owners of these irreplaceable historic houses do a fantastic job preserving the nations history at no cost to the taxpayer- can you imagine what would happen if the government was instead responsible?!
