I'll triple that. No one can be duplicate the sound of Stereolab. This is the first song I heard of them on a bus going back to my duty station in San Diego in 2001. It totally changed the way I listen to music

This cannot be argued. If you understand and love music, you know Stereolab is truth.

Here's the song that started my love for Stereolab. They've changed the way I listen to music since 2001. Can't wait to see them again in Dallas 2019!!

Great performance, so glad somebody posted this song live, as they only did this on their 2001 Sound-Dust tour! I took the name of this song for my performing pseudonym!

If you hear Tim's guitar (especially in the 'first half') - that sound doesn't appear on the album, but I'll bet it was in the original version / demo... such a driving force behind a song that sounds out of his element on Stereolab songs of this 'direction' (see below) - so this performance of this song from this album proves my theory that Sound-Dust is the perfect mix of both directions the band took - what I call Tim's direction and Laetitia's direction - and thus in my opinion is their best album! Thanks for posting!

I love this song. I saw them play this live, without Mary in the band though. So sad. I really loved her voice. I did see them with her twice, but the third time I saw them she wasn't with them anymore. Such a beautiful voice.

Love the complete change of direction that's so familiar to Stereolab fans. Should have seen them in Oxford 30 days later but went to my shit Christmas do instead. Oh well finally get to see them this summer, but I will still be thinking of Mary xx

Fabulous, moving song! Mary was indeed lovely. I met her at Lollapalooza in 1994 in NYC wandering through the crowd after their show. She was warm and friendly, no rock-star trip. Too nice to live, I guess. These lyrics are haunting with that in mind. Here they have trouble with tempo on the country-rock part trying to double it up, which they don't do on the record. That part works so well on the recording, too. Andy is a great, loose and driving drummer though, one of the best.

What's up with all the Mary-gushing? Laetitia is there, too. Care to say something nice about one of the driving forces behind it all?
@rycooder82654 ай бұрын
Because Mary tragically and unfairly passed away and she deserves a lot of honor. She should not be forgotten. More over, Stereolab (studio albums and live) is clearly not the same without her. It’s a fact. Laetitia is great we all know it, so as Tim and Andy.
