I have been doing Carotid sonograms for the past 7 years and I believe the ICA measurements she was getting was actually the ECA. If you noticed the ICA prox and ECA measurement are almost the same. Who agrees with me?

Oh good... not just my imagination.. I was thinking that is such a high resistance ica prox. & mid.. However, I think she got the correct ica when she did distal ICA.

Did you try tapp test for ICA/ECA to differentiate them?

Excellent. In my clinical rotations, the radiologist is always thankful for a cine loop of the CCA and vertebral to show direction of flow in both. This video is excellent for showing up to optimate the machine for vascular scanning.

Woah, I barely started doing CCA protocol in my DMS class and this is all so crazy to me. The speed at which she does it, her left hand is so fluid, and it looks seamless.

Yes, embarrassing. Proximal and distal ICA diastolic flow are completely different.

on rt ica prx and mid that you show it looks like it is eca instead, note the high resistant waveform on the doppler now for the rt ica dist looks good due to the low resistance waveform .....just my opinion

In rt int carotid you obtain the external carotid

There was EXternal caritid artery from 2:48 to 3:30 and NOT INternal !!!

I appreciate showing ultrasound exams in KZbin but should not be completed as the others will fake their resume stating they have the skills to scan vascular when in fact they only learned from You Tube. I've had many experiences with such general Sonographers and their vascular examinations are qualified in labeling MALPRACTICE.

If your doctor tells you that you have barely detectable thickening, what does this mean? Does it refer to plaque within the artery wall, or is there so much plaque, say 1.5mm thick that it is pushing slightly into the artery?
