Top 5: 5: Nighthawk This thing is very fun, however quite uncomfortable, and a bit shaky. The shakiness takes away from the flying experience you should have. 4. Afterburn. Afterburn in pretty smooth, and was actually my first inverted (dangling) coaster. Also, on the day I went, the ride operator for this was hilarious. He kept singing the "small world" theme song and was calling the coaster different names. At one point he called it Top Thrill Dragster. When it was over, he ended his presentation with, "Enjoy the rest of your day at Dakotawinds, where the Dakotas meet." It was truly unforgettable. 3: Copperhead Strike First of all, the theming for this ride was truly imoressive, as well as the first launch. Also, the barrel roll (correct me if i'm wrong) right out of the station added a thrilling touch to the ride. And of course, the awesome hangtime on the verticle loops left me speechless. 2. Indimidator Only 3 words. Astounding. Airtime. Hills. No, really the airtime hills on this coaster are so amazing, and made me want to ride again. If I could tie this one for first, but one coaster just takes the cake. You know iy as, the one and only, Wilderness ru- Fury325! This coaster was absoulutely astounding. My favorite coaster I have ridden so far. Everything about it was just out of this world. Airtime? amazing. Drop? Astounding. Speed? Wow. Hotel? Trivag- uh, nevermind. But jokes aside, this coaster was incredibly fun.

Hey Patrick, I went to Carowinds and went on Copperhead strike and thought it was really good, it even had some intensity to it I thought, I think it should be getting better reviews as well. Then I went to Dollywood for the first time. Wow what a great park, got to go on my first RMC, my first GCI and my first winged coaster and they were all great. I see what you mean about Thunderhead being a little rough but it was good, is Mystic Timbers smoother? Lightning Rod was amazing, I sat in the front twice and once in the back, I preferred the front though. And the cinnamon bread was awesome. Two awesome parks! Thanks for all the great video's

Carowinds is our home park. I feel like Copperhead Strike is a great addition to the park, the hangtime is unreal. i was lucky enough to be able to do construction tours of CS during the winter. It was amazing to see it come together. Your right, Intimidator does get a lot of hate, but it's really not that bad. Great video

In the late 90's it was barely a theme park. They had Vortex the red standup coaster and a couple others not really much to talk about. But since then they have grown SO MUCH! I used to go there when I visited in the late 90's - my family lived in Rock Hill, SC close to the NC/SC border. Can't not love the roar of the Vortex coaster through the park.

Thunder Road was demolished, top gun was renamed to After burn but still awesome ride. Fury 325 is by far the best coaster at Carowinds if not the East Coast.

I love Carowinds! I’m just sad that I live 8 hours from it and Fury is my favorite roller coaster. But Top Thrill Dragster will always be my personal favorite.

Visited Carowinds for the first time on Tuesday June 4th. What a phenomenal park! Imo when it comes to the coasters though, they have 4 great coasters, 2 that are reride-able and the rest are absolutely awful one n done rides! You already know the 4 great ones, the ones I found reride-able were Hurler and Ricochet (though I did only ride Ricochet once). Out of all of the absolutely awful ones the only one I rode a second time was Vortex. The reasoning being whenever I do get a chance to return to Carowinds, I figured this would likely have the floorless treatment, so I wanted to just get one more experience on a standup while I could. But yeah, the operations on that ride are painful, making the line unnecessarily long.

I just went to Carowinds for the first time 2 weeks ago, and it’s now my #2 Cedar Fair park only behind Cedar Point. I’ve only been to four and the other two are Kings Dominion and Kings Island, and those two are also great!

Carowinds is my home park. The track work on Hurler for the 2019 season was a big help for the ride. I do hope they have or will rework the rest of the track. Maybe Iron Horse it, if they build a new wooden coaster. I would also be okay with a ground up RMC. I still enjoy a lap or two on Cyclone almost every visit. Yeah, it is a bit of a rough ride. However, it was my first inverting coaster. Copperhead Strike, fantastic coaster, tied for 1st in my book, in the Carowinds lineup. After Burn, totally awesome coaster that offers great night rides. This is the other one tied for 1st in my book. At least for coasters at Carowinds. Fury 325, Great coaster, smooth as silk, crazy speed with some good air time moments. Intimidator, solid coaster with great floater air time. My guess is the trims are needed to maintain that floater air time. It would have been hard to design all that floater air time without trims, at least for NC. The, spring, summer and fall temperatures can vary a good bit. Gold Rusher, one of only 3 rides that opened with the park in 1973. It actually offers good night rides, simply due to how dark it gets around the track.

I love Carowinds for many reasons! One of the things I love to do is visit the Warehouse bar, have a few Beam & Cokes and then marathon Fury right afterwards XD (but I do drink responsibly ;) )

Me Too Patrick, me too🤣 I think these parks are really missing an opportunity with these, like you said many of these rides are really awesome looking but they're terrible rides. We all know Vekoma has new trains and they have the tech to smooth out the track in rough spots (mostly transitions). The later Arrow Loopers like Canyon Blaster at Circus Circus or Tennessee Tornado at Dollywood prove they can be pretty good. What does make me scratch my head is Schwarzkopf Loopers don't suffer from rough transitions and their older! Although they don't have all the elements but it's still weird they had it figured out and Arrow didn't.

@@CoasterFanatics I did rode Power Tower at Cedar Point, they put new shoulder harness and the sensors. As I pulled the shoulder harness and click the safety belt on me, they had to recheck the shoulder harness and when this dude gave me a one push, the indicator light turn green.

Hey guys I’m going this park this Sunday and I wanna go on intimidator I have already been on afterburn but not many other rides here and I’m scared to go on intimidator because my friend told me it feels like your going to fly out of your seat and I don’t really like that feeling in my stomach I’m going with some friends Sunday any ideas for helping me be able to get on intimidator

My biggest advice is to just push yourself and get it done. You will be happy you did it in the end and you will most likely want to ride again. Once you are done, Go check out Intimidator's big brother, Fury 325!!!

Six Flags over Ga is run so poorly we now drive 3.5 hours to this park. We love Fury and we really like Intimidator a lot as well. We love what Cedar Fair has done and is doing with this once forgettable park. Go Carowinds!

@@mobetterent.gamerzunited2529 I've been going to Over Ga for 4 decades. For a very long time this park routinely operated rides (especially coasters) below capacity levels. One train operations are common unless the park is crowded. That means what should be a 15 minute wait is now 45 minutes. They also have crazy long lines at restaurants if you ever try to eat at popular eating times. Further too many rides are down too often. Many coasters at many Six Flags could use a new paint job also.

The park was less than half full and almost every ride was operating at full capacity. I have experienced generous operations several times at CP and Carowinds. Years ago Six Flags parks did not operate their parks like this. Further we have to wait around 10 years between great ride additions at SFOG. i find the lack of new cutting edge ride additions (even with a good economy) really slack.

@@saywhatx4ily Vortex looks like fun. Rough, but fun. I can't wait to ride it. Call me crazy but I've only ever found one arrow looper I didn't like out of 4 so far. They are all rough in their own ways but not all are unbearable even if they are not super comfy. Viper is my favorite so far. I also enjoyed Carolina Cyclone and Anaconda but its ride experience can be...dynamic I've never had a truly bad ride on it though, which is more than I can say for Demon at CGA. I'm pretty excited about Tennessee Tornado as I hear good things.

I actually enjoyed Carolina cyclone. Lol Copperhead broke down again. It did that when I was there too. I think that's kinda common. Afterburn blew my mind and idk if I'll ever have a new favorite invert and Hurler definitely goes from surprisingly smooth to what is happening between laps 1 and 2. Lol. I still liked it though even if Twisted Timbers is 1000x better. Also Intimidator definitely, although its sorta fun, deserves all the hate. Weak airtime, sluggish pacing, uninspired layout, unneccesary midcourse that practically stops the train, one of my two rides had a noticeable rattle, and there's way too many overzealous, airtime cancelling trims. Goliath(SFOG) especially, and Nitro are both far better than this. Even Goliath at SFMM is better than this. Dare I say Superman at SFA with all its giant Helices and straight track is more exciting than this. If this is equal to Diamondback I'm actually now looking forward to my upcoming visit to KI just a little bit less. With 2 days and 2 fastlane plus wristbands I only got 2 rides on it by choice. I'm glad you liked it more than me though. I enjoy seeing controversial opinions as I tend to have those myself.

Yeah I totally agree that Goliath is better. I'm just saying that Intimidator isn't bad. There are much worse coasters out there to complain about. I do see why some people don't like it though.
