Yes and no. If it’s clear between you and the spot your fishing then backleads are perfect. If there’s weed and obstructions backleads will sink into that, the line will still be up in the weeds then if a fish kites through that weed bed your screwed because it’s backleaded

Just put sweat wristband on your spools before you leave and wet em time you there they soaked and ready no more Mr nice baby required
