True for the builder of the workbench, the restorers unfortunately not. Woodmovement will cause the top to split badly. One does not glue across grain

I would use that bench in a heartbeat. Hand cut blind dovetails, wooden screw this, bench dogs, wow. Trestle bar legs wedges, so cool. I'm 76 yo and I learn new things in each of your videos. Im a retired carp, cab maker, and woodworker. I say you are a master.

This is easily one of my favorite restorations. I love wood projects, it seems to tell a story to me for some reason. I'd find some way to turn this into a kitchen workspace. It's too beautiful for the shop

Вот как раз функционал и вызывает некоторые сомнения. 1. не видел, чтобы были выверены какие-либо плоскости, что в инструменте довольно важно. 2. как видно на видео, даже после "реставрации" верстак шатается более чем ощутимо, что опять таки не есть гут для работы. ну и ещё по мелочи там есть вопросы.

The 2 of U did a Great Job on restoring the bench with out replacing a lot of the bad wood. I really enjoyed the time U took 2 repair the bad parts then replace it back without all the B/S of trying 2 make it more than it was orginally. Overall GREAT JOB & B Proud of this great work bench

Very nice. You took away the grime and made it strong again but left most of the signs of use. Now it goes "out to pasture" in the museum to be seen and appreciated by many so it is still useful even in retirement.

Hello, I just watched your excellent restoration of this priceless old woodworkers bench. It was a high quality bench when it was made and modern high quality benches like it are made the same way. As a woodworker myself I pray you keep it in your own shop and never sell it. The tail vise screw head replacement was perfect. The only moment I cringed was when you used nails. Dowels would have been used. Very well done! Now on to watch the Xmas tree stand resto!

Did not like the use of nails on the dovetail joints, takes away from the entire concept of craftsmanship, but hey only my opinion. Good that time and care was taken to try to keep a well used carpenters bench from the burn pile.

Супер! У нас в мастерской стоит такой верстак. Отец моего мужа ( их уже нет в живых) мастерил окна, двери, табуретки для дома, для дачи себе и родне. Но в нашем есть ещё больше приспособлений. Свёкор был в плену у немцев и его взял работать местный фермер. Научил столярничать. Видимо по образцу свёкор и сделал себе верстак. Лежат и молотки деревянные, и масса приспособлений для работы с деревом. А потом два станка появилось. Спасибо за навеянные воспоминания о нашем труденике.

Hi all. That's one more aspect of your talents. I watched your video with pleasure. I didn't even notice the weather. This is an example of the ingenuity of the elders. I don't know what the time of this table is, but its complexity has left me speechless. I've seen it in the past but I never imagined it was that complex. We used to do things to last. You've done a remarkable job. You took care of every element. It's a great job. I saw that everyone put their hands to the dough even the dog they helped you to tighten the elements of the table. He or she it seems to me did the same thing as you. Another great achievement. Today is December 24th, I wish you with all my heart a very good and merry Christmas. Even Branciforte Jr. High School has these carpenter's woodworking benches. It's about where I used to go to school. Back then, in 1980 and 1981. This was when I also worked with plexiglass plastic and aluminum products.

My two favorite youtubers, your projects, large or small, new or old are always a pleasure to watch. The joinery on this table was obviously completed by someone with master level skills. Nice job. But for the future restoration of the wood piece my sugestion is : first the linsed oil ,and after spirit shelack. Of course, if we use them together.
