Recorded when Karen was 20 years old, "Maybe It's You" is a song composed by John Bettis and Richard Carpenter. It was originally released on August 19, 1970 on the Carpenters' second album, "Close to You." It was subsequently released on December 23, 1971 as the B-side of the single "Hurting Each Other".

Cannot get enough of this tune, listened to this and other tunes off the Close to You album at Christmas, 1970. I just stared at the beautiful tree all the while enchanted and mesmerized by her voice. It was almost holy. This was long before they recorded their Christmas songs. Still sounds like the holidays to me. Miss you Karen so much......
