The purest, richest, smoothest most angelic voice of all time and she was a fabulous drummer too.

The song, which was originally called "Groupie", is about a superfan who gets to sleep with her favorite guitarist. He tells her he loves her and he will come back to see her the next time the band is in town. He doesn't love her, and he hasn't been back to see her, and he's not ever coming back to see her. She writes to him, professing her love and trying to figure out "what to say, to make you come again". She is slowly dying inside, slowly realizing that he's not coming back. Beautiful and heartbreaking. You can see the heartbreak on Karen's face at the end of the song. She is such a wonderful interpreter of songs. She gives you the feels all over with such a smooth mellow soulful voice, full of emotion. Listening to Karen is like being out on a snowy, wintery day and walking into a toasty warm house with the fireplace glowing and someone wrapping a warm blanket around you and sitting by the fireplace. She has the warmest female voice that has ever existed.

Believe it or not Luther Vandross performed a cover version of this song. The arrangement was completely different of course, but I love both versions. A true classic! 🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶

It's more the emotion..and the way the song is structured...than the voice.. Her songs plus music are structured to stimulate the brain...it's how Richard sets it up to do...something he never gets credited for...it's more him than her...without this her voice wouldn't mean as much.

Karen's voice is "Hauntingly" beautiful. Listen to "A song for You", but do the Audio version, the video version cuts the best part of the song out due to time constraints as it was a tv performance. All of their songs are great and I also recommend "Goodbye to Love" Video is good on that one. Treat yourself to one of her drum performances, you will be blown away, Playboy Magazine ranked her I believe it was #5 of the top drummers, and ranked LZ's drummer John Bonham #6, LOL, he wasn't happy because he was teased that a "girl" out ranked him. Almost everyone ranks John "Bonzo" Bonham as the best drummer ever, even more than 40 years after his death.

To think that Karen just wanted to play the drums and not sing at all. Thankfully, her brother Richard convinced her to sing for us.
