I actually saw this show when it first aired, although I thought it may have been on Merv Griffin instead of Mike Douglas. I was familiar with the Carpenters from AM radio, but had never seen them. I also had never seen or heard of a band with a female-lead-singer-drummer, which is probably why I can still remember the show after all these years.
