That roof is an example of all the things you shouldn't do when building or "cutting" a roof. To teach bad technique like that to eager young men is doing them a disservice, not to mention their future clients. It's as if nobody gives a fuck about anything anymore other than some crappy cert and getting paid.

are apprentice carpenters allowed to use tablesaw and other big machines now? we wernt allowed use anything like that during my time and I started in 07 and finished in 11 so it was pretty recent enough.

I started 42 years ago all done by hand. that was basics.

What are the exams like for carpentery I'm thinking of going back just don't know if my head will be able for exams

@@irish23theatreofdreams44 it's easy enough. It used to be mostly drawings in the exams but now it's a maths, drawing and 30 questions. Now they get harder as u go along. I got grinds in my 4th phase and passed the maths and drawings with full marks. And the questions then are common enough.
