Thank u for the underwater footage, this is exactly what I wanted to see! I am new to carp fishing and sid not understand the rig or all the cornmeal dough bait recipes. I see now that it is supposed to break a part and be a meal on the floor with a hook to be sucked up as well

I'd rather use a 10 mm popup but balance it with micro shot on the hair under the boilie between the hook and the boilie. It's like a bottom and a pop up but deceptively light so it goes in more.

Try uncooked oatmeal with a can of creamcorn and a raw egg. Mix well and refrigerate for a day. Makes a great doughball bait for carp. Just bury your hook in and pack well. I use a golfball size.

@@fcgash I never catch with small baits, but I’m in the USA so our carp are wild they don’t have a preference. They go crazy for boilies,paste, liquids and groundbait. We can get away with things UK anglers would snicker at simply because our carp have never seen traps.

@@fcgash sometimes 😂, I have caught plenty of carp on smaller food items they just tend to be very small carp. I think the larger ones have been caught on just corn or smaller particles so they are more wary. But the larger 10lb+ fish fall to the 15mm+ Boilies quiet often. Which to me speaks volumes about Boilies, these carp are not trained on them nor have they ever been fed them but go crazy for them every time. I always get the larger fish on Boilies than Packbait or bread.

@@nicod686 Its a combination of the flavours and the high nutrition content that they get from boilies that tempts them. If they have not seen them before, i would guess even the cleverest of fish would fall for them first time they came across them.
