Good stuff. I'll get myself one on day. Looks easy in a 12 min vid lol. I'll set myself 2-3 hours and a lot of swearing for a Sunday.

Finally fitted mine.. Some how I got that part out without breaking it lol.. it's such light material too.. weighs nothing that plastic ring..

I managed to fit mine from under the car like you did but I never removed the wheel or boost pipe. Not a bad job to do really.
@CarRambles5 жыл бұрын
Yeah when i installed my turbosmart first time i done the same, it was so much tighter though without removing those parts, for the sake of 5 mins to remove i would highly recommend anyone to remove the hot side pipe and wheel just to give you more breathing space :) Thank you for the comment!!

Iv recently removed my gfb to re lube the piston. Every now and then the noise from it sounded different, like it was sticking open. Since then I have added a washer to the back of the main spring to give it more tension. I now get some nice flutter noise at low rpms but still operates correctly high up the revs :)
@CarRambles5 жыл бұрын
@@gw199010 never heard anyone do that before but an interesting thing to do 🤔

It sounds good. Not too ott like the turbosmart dual port. I’m running a st200 airbox.

It's much easier to access the valve if you unscrew the black dust cover on the right side. There are only two little screws for it ;)

I fitted a DV+ and a stage 2 intercooler at the same time and now I have absolutely 0 boost? Can’t hear the turbo spool, or the DV+ release at all. I took the DV+ off again and relubed the piston, checked all the boost pipes and there all fine? I’ve just ordered forscan but won’t arrive for a few days. EML Came on but disappeared after 10 minutes, any ideas?

I have an focus st and I want to know if the dv+ is installed where the bov is placed, couse I all ready have an aftermarket bov so I don't know if a still have the plunger section Can you help me please!
@CarRambles5 жыл бұрын
I don't fully understand the question... The DV+ is basically an add on to your stock DV. It requires you to remove the plunger section from the stock DV and the plunger isn't needed. If you have an aftermarket bov then the DV+ will not attach to that.

Great vid as always. Are you going to be doing a circular car rambles sticker same as the logo???
@CarRambles5 жыл бұрын
This is on my to do list, follow me on instagram, gonna need people to decide on a logo. I really suck at making logos but if people like my dodgy one ill make it a bit better and get some stickers in of it!

Went from a dv+ to a closed Turbosmart valve, because the dv+ didn't hold full pressure after approx 10k km... Wouldn't recommend it anymore. The closed Turbosmart is also plug&play btw.

Great vid mate. Mines on its way. What tools/size do I need? Haven't got an array of stuff, usally just buy when I figure out what I need but it be amazing if I could have the right stuff for when I gets here. TIA

To be honest mate, I think it's a h4 hex socket. Maybe h5. Few extensions and a rachet and you are pretty much good to go..

Could you let me no how you changed from a vacuum unit to electric, I've got a 2011 cmax with vacuum diverter. Not sure how you sorted the wiring. Thanks

Very long story, might be worth watching the boost leak videos :) Basically wanted to test my turbosmart valve to clear my mind if it was broke or not. Turns out it was fine and i just had a small leak in a vacuum line

I have gfb vta but want to change to the dv+. Can i do direct swap by disassembling the vta and using the stock part for the dv+?
@CarRambles4 жыл бұрын
To my knowledge yes ;)
@101francis1014 жыл бұрын
How does the GFB compare to the stock unit in terms of performance? Or is it just better quality and less likely to break. I’m running a stage 2 map and wonder if I’ll notice any performance increase using the GFB.
@CarRambles4 жыл бұрын
I have noticed no performance difference between this and stock. However I did see a difference between gfb and turbosmart. Turbosmart was venting the pressure and with a big turbo I actually noticed the spool time was slower than my gfb. However the noise was amazing so I do miss it aha
@CarRambles4 жыл бұрын
The quality of the gfb is excellent though
@101francis1014 жыл бұрын
Car Rambles Thanks for the reply. If I run into issues with the stock unit I’ll probably upgrade to the GFB - almost looking for excuses to spend money on the car at this point 😂
@CarRambles4 жыл бұрын
@@101francis101 I mean I run a stock one on a rt330 big turbo and it was exactly the same. As long as it's holding the boost your fine lol
@101francis1014 жыл бұрын
Car Rambles Car feels great so should be fine. I’ll save the money for now. Tempted by the big turbo route but I’m still paying off all the stage 2 stuff for the next 18 months. Mods are a slippery slope!!

Which BOV is better and more reliable the turbosmart or GFB my stock one won’t hold on much longer I don’t think 😂
@CarRambles4 жыл бұрын
Gfb is known for being more reliable but turbosmart v1 is fine as long it's lubed once a year. Tbh stock is solid 🤷🏻♂️ if it breaks then change it if reliability is the only thing your going for.... Sound wise turbosmart is crazy loud if you get a dual port or crazy flutters with plumback. Gfb is nice. A louder stock basically
@jackfootitt6224 жыл бұрын
Car Rambles what would you recommend because I like the sound of the turbo smart but you just hear so many people complaining about them
@CarRambles4 жыл бұрын
Na you hear marketing and people trying to make you buy a gfb because "it's the best thing ever" aha. I personally would go turbosmart as I miss the noise and never actually had a problem with it. However the gfb on a bigger turbo legit spooled faster on gear shifts. Seriously is your choice aha
@kidd213884 жыл бұрын
I lost the dam spring does anyone know where i can get another spring ?

Is the Noise from the DV+
@CarRambles5 жыл бұрын
Alot of it is from the itg.... The itg intake is very loud. The gfb is a slightly louder version of stock. And I mean very slightly.
@livingthedreamsince19745 жыл бұрын
Shame you didn't add the turbo smart sound difference.. looks like an easy swap though.
