Carré Otis has long been one of the most recognizable faces in modeling, headlining in campaigns for Guess, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, and Revlon. As a supermodel, Carré has appeared on the covers of Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, and Cosmopolitan. She’s worked with many of the world’s greatest fashion photographers, including Richard Avedon, Herb Ritts, Helmut Newton, and Peter Lindbergh. In her book Beauty Disrupted: A Memoir, Carré shares her unique insight into the business of beauty and the high price it demands by giving an honest account of her struggle with love, identity and spirituality. Now a wife and busy mother of two she’s found a new voice as a passionate advocate for young women in and out of the modeling industry.

My grandmother took me to Brazil in the early 90s and we met her! She was staying in the suite next to us and we had breakfast with her every morning for the entire week. I was ENAMORED because she was so stunning and is hard not to be shocked into silence when you're in sitting next to someone that looks like her in a hotel restaurant with your grandmother. 😆 She was a doll, so kind and funny, she had staff and other people surrounding her at most times but at breakfast it was just her and one guy standing off to the side.

Just finished reading Carre's book - its a real eye-opener. Its a must read for all parents. The abuse of women and children is everywhere and the perpetrators must b e held accountable.

Carre Otis book is very well written and she highlights how traditional success comes at a terrible price sometimes. The only part I found disingenuous and evasive was her life and childhood growing up in Marin County San Francisco. I believe in years to come the dark truth about that liberal enclave will be exposed. Carre plays it extremely safe here tho. She mixes trite western interpretations of Buddhism claiming to be some kind of truth teller.......many people buy this not me. This is very opportunistic
